Lately this old friend of mine has been calling me up a lot. But all she does is talk. You know that Robert Downy Jr quote, "I just smile, nod, then go back to whatever the fuck it is I was doing"? Well thats what I've been doing with this chick, and once I try to take control of the frame, she just switches it back to her frame. Don't know how to beat this... Any advice would be great! Convo example:

HB: Hey omg so guess what xx did.. she did this and that etc..
me: thats cool. so yea you know what xxx i was talking about? Well me and her...
HB: un huh... well yea so like i was saying...
repeat x 5

I dont know if i should start telling her to stfu or just give her like dramatic stories on like how my dad fucked my ex girlfriend. I feel like shes using me to vent. I like this girl as a friend, don't want it to go past that. Just trying to figure out how to get more than an "un huh" from her.
