Meet up and everything seems good so far. She gets a text from her friend... she told him about her dog issues. The guy says the dog might be dying... so she's all paranoid. I'm cool, and asked if she wanted to go back to her place. We do, we walk and talk... not too great since she's worried and less talkative. I try to make conversation and ended up talking about her past and it was a sore topic... change topic, but she's already not in a good mood. I tried to keep the convo going at more safe topics. She dropped me off, we hugged in the car and it was just that. My head played tricks on me and just told me she wasn't interested after all that. I knew my head was making excuses for me not to kiss her... but all those seem like valid excuses. She's not in a good mood... and I know it's not my fault and there's nothing I could do about it. If we had a great time, then yes I would've... even a decent time. But with the dog and everything, she's been stressed all night and doesn't seem too happy. I'm sure she's okay with being friends... but that's not quite what I want.
Would it be a wuss move to email her, tell her what I think. Like, I know you're stressed out... etc etc, and eventually be like, I do like you a bit... well more when you're normal.

If she's not in a good state of mind, then throw all game out the window. If you MIGHT see your dead dog when you go home, would you care if the person you are with confessed their love for you? probably not.
Don't lose confidence over this one. Just send her a text saying something like, "I really hope your dog is alright. I've gone through something similar with a few pets...its never easy. Let me know if you need anything (some emoticon thats not too loud)." This serves two purposes: you are showing concern for what shes going through, and its a small act of DHV (you like animals). The main thing is, to show you care but aren't getting TOO involved.
So to wrap it up, don't think about this one too much. There are too many variables to consider, and none of those variables pertain to your gaming efforts. Chalk this one up as a "oh well, shit happens," and hit her up with shes in a better state of mind.
