I've gotten 1 or 2 smiles from her in the classes we've had. I've established myself as someone in the class who answers a fair amount of questions and intelligent but not to the point of nerdiness. I've also noticed whenever I answer a question she would turn around and look as I answered, which I am aware may just be natural.
She herself is also someone in the class who gets involved in discussion and I assume is very intellectual. I've been wanting to open her for awhile but when I've planned on doing so she talks to the prof right after class so I don't wanna wait around to seem creepish.
I was thinking of saying after class as a direct opener "hey I noticed you in class and really wanted to meet you". And then going from there, but does anyone differ and think I should go for a CF opener, or any other for that matter?

She laughed like wtf how are you going to put a banana on my desk like you know me.
I actually took it back and threw it away, which I think is weird in retrospect, but ever since then she's always had a thing for me, has been pursuing me for years.
It's weird to open these imo because you have a sort of peer professional relationship almost.
Btw why don't you just sit next to where she sits. That's clear enough and after she gets comfortable with you, it's a lot easier to talk and laugh.
One time a girl came up to me on class break and asked me if she could ask me a question. She asked me if i was really interested in the class secretly and just acted like i didnt care or if i really didnt care, haha. Whatever my point is, if you say "hey can i ask you a question- do you really care about all this stuff or do you just act like you do" maybe that could work to some degree..

Do my amazing Tic-Tac-Toe game opener, sit next to her, draw a tic-tac-toe game on a piece of paper - you make the first move, ultimately making the game a Win for you or at least a cat - write "Bored?" next to the game, hand it to her. After the game, neg her saying "you need to step up your game, better luck next time"
Then that is that, if she opens you after class or during, then the game begins, otherwise just wait until next class or w/e to start a normal convo.
