So there's a nice restaurant I go maybe once a month, and there's this nice waitress working there.

I don't know much about her. I know her name because it's written on the bill. I don't know her age, marital status... Well, for all I know, she might prefer girls!

I go alone. I eat and read. I like being alone amongst people. I know that might not be the best attitude to pick up girls. I smile at the waitress when she comes to my table, and try to find something interesting to say/ask. Sometimes it works. Sometimes not.

I even went so far as to ask her phone number once. I didn't really expect to have it, but it was a challenge to myself. When she brought me the bill, I turned it over and said I had hoped her phone number would be there. She laughed, and answered politely something about the paper being too thin or something. I laughed, and said I would have to come back.

I know I have a lot of work to do on my inner game. I'm very uncomfortable and self-conscious around beautiful women. Don't feel I have much to offer.

So I just recently discovered the PUA community. I am fascinated! And I thought, well, before my next visit to the restaurant, I might want to work on a few ideas. I will definitely look for IOI's.

Any tips from you guys? Canned phrases, attitude, magic spell, how to build rapport... anything?

Yea, you're a typical AFC bro. I mean, literally everything you did was wrong. You fixated on one girl. You are cultivating a "loner" image with no social value. You are gaming girls at their places of employment. You made a weak attempt at number closing and didn't follow through.

You basically need to start over from the ground up and really research and study pick up and then slowly try to improve yourself and develop strong inner game.

-So, gaming a girl at her place of work is a no-no? I mean, I've read on this forum about waitresses being hired-guns, and being hit on frequently...

-I am afraid I am definitely a loner. Seriously, is it an unforgivable handicap for hitting on girls? I mean, I get that you cannot AMOG when you're alone. I think I understand what you mean when you refer to social value, puaninja. "Loner" rhymes with "loser": not interesting for a girl. So, any Lone PUAs?
