I came up with this on my own before I knew about picking up. I'm new to this and I'm looking for some critiques.

I go up to the bar near a target set. I order a drink and when it comes I take a sip. I immediately, and loudly, begin gagging, spitting, and coughing like the drink is horrible. Do this for a while, definately long enough to get the targets to look. Then when you're sure they're looking turn to them with a pained look and then say "this is really good, do you want to buy it? No seriously, I don't think he could make another one this good.".

95% of the time I get at least one of them to laugh pretty hard, most will laugh a little or smile depending on your delivery. Watch standup comics for timing. When I nail it and get a girl in the right mood, I've even had a couple spit up their drink. The bigger the buildup, the more likely they are to laugh. Just make sure you don't gross them out in the build up by actually spitting or spitting on them. Think the fake spit you did into your brother/friend/etc hair as a kid that feels and sounds like spit but isn't. Oh I also like to use napkins to wipe out my mouth. Trust me it looks funny.

Once they laugh, you can say almost anything. I usually follow with "Okay you got me. Its terrible. What did you guys get...", but don't feel limited by this. You can go into any routine that can follow on the heels of a joke.

Nice man I like it! It's a good way to draw attention to yourself and then have some fun with the joke.
