Guys, I'm only here a couple of days and as one said in his welcome: 'research is the key!' I intend to do just that.

Perhaps I have the order wrong and should have done reading first before joining the forum; I'm impressed by the posts I saw here so far and learning, but would like to do some more.
If I could only buy one book (money reasons) or only pack one book (I'll be moving soon but like to travel light), which one should it be?
Your thoughts please.

kneejerk reaction is "the game", but that's more a storybook with a few pointers, but not too much substance. it comes off more like a movie trailer. but then most of the best material is on the internet and e-books, so unless you have a printer and lots of toner go for the game. if you do have lots of toner, i'd say mystery's venusian arts e-book. of the ones i've read it's been the most valuable to me. i've read juggler's book too, but it's a little out there if you have no experience yet. well, that's my opinion anyway :)

It depends on where YOU are at.

How is your inner game? If you are starting out and have AA, I say go Double your Dating. You can learn most other things for awhile from this site.

If you have some game but need techniques, go Venusian Arts.

Do not get The Game. It will do nothing for you except get you here, and you already are.

id definately read Juggler's "How to be a pickup artist." Its what im reading and studying now. In my opinion its a great intro to the world of PUA, it has alot of examples and stuff, after that i would do David DeAngelo's double your dating (i haven't read it yet, but i heard it helps you mostly on approaching woman and getting dates) thats all i can honestly recommend for right now

Secrets of Female Sexuality or Introducing NLP. Both incredibly improved my inner game and outer game.

I'd go with The Game, it's a really good read about the ups and down of PUA and some of its history. It really got me into PU because the story was so captivating I couldn't put it down.

The Secrets of the Alpha Male - Carlos Xuma

Don't start off with Mystery Method stuff.. Secrets of the Alpha Male helps you become a natural with girls and life in general ... Mystery Method is just a one night thing

If you must get one book.... get...

The ATTRACTION CODE by Vin DiCarlo!

Seriously, I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it! It's not too long, and it's packed full of information on what REALLY attracts women and how to trigger a woman's attraction switches FAST and EFFECTIVELY. This guy is a MASTER of natural game, and he knows how to teach it WITHOUT confusing you or making you feel stupid. He takes pickup to a whole new level.

My second pick is Mehow's "Get the Girl" if you're into bar game.

My third pick would be Swinggcat's REAL WORLD SEDUCTION. If you want to be the prize that women chase, Swinggcat's your man.

Fourth is the totally FREE ebook "Don Juan boot camp" from sosuave.com. This actually shows you how to GO from beginner to master with an 8-week program. It also has lots of good articles on developing a natural, unscripted seducer's mindset.

Fifth would be a tie between Ross Jeffries' stuff (too expensive) and MM's Magic Bullets (too deceptive)... though both have their good points as well... can't figure out which one is WORSE.

And by the way, absolutely AVOID these:

*David Deangelo (great marketing, but a total waste of time telling you the obvious. A mediocre "master" if he can even be called that, he even admits that Mehow can "smoke him" any day - plus his DVDs are more like stand-up comedy than practical pickup advice)

*Gunwitch method (it assumes WAY too much about a situation and seriously fucks with your mind... you're better off with MM in my opinion)

*The Player's Black Book - it's total pop-pickup BULL! Lots of motivational page filler and large letters to take up space, but NO SUBSTANCE! NO SKILLS WHATSOEVER! Plus, it is praised by practically every major entertainment and news channel on primetime TV (why am I not surprised... ?)

*Anything by Don Steele. That guy's a dinosaur WAY past his prime.

*Louis Copeland, Scott Patterson, and Marius Panzarella. Their products are just second-rate cash cows. The affordable stuff on their websites is not worth the effort of reading them.

*Wayne Ross - boring, tedious, and a waste of cash. Outdated and out of touch with REAL women. Plus the tome of his articles indicates that he doesn't know beans about push-pull and attraction

And don't get The Game, unless you have spare time for leisure reading, because that's exactly what it is. It's a fun read, NOT a manual for how to attract women. Style has his own PUA book, Rules of the Game, which is a bit shallow but still better than his novel if you want to actually BE a PUA.

But overall, the Attraction Code is the best book for your money. Hands Down.

"The Game" is good if you don't know ANYTHING about the seduction community...

But if you actually want to learn some game, use this forum and buy one or two comprehensive PUA books, mainly THE ATTRACTION CODE.

"The Game" only tells the history of Neill Strauss and the PUA community. Sure it has some techniques, but they only work in certain situations, and since The game is a New York Times bestseller, chances are the chick you're macking has read it and knows what you're up to.

Plus, IMO it present a very negative view of Ross Jeffries and Tyler Durden, both of whom have some very good products.
