Hey guys,

This idea was actually inspired by my good friend and wing, Class. He went to Borders Books and bought a small, thin notebook. He started keeping it with him at all times, and I bought one the next day. He uses it for a number of reasons: Reminders, general thoughts, things he doesn't want to forget, and of course... notes on his own game.

I thought this was a great idea. I've started carrying one of these and a pen everywhere I go. It's about the size of a 3x5 notecard, around 64 pages thick, and fits in the back pocket of your jeans perfectly. I know what you're thinking, and yes, it's small and thin enough that it's no hassle to carry around, and it's still comfortable to sit down on.

The things I use it for are reminders of what I can and should be doing to improve myself. Mostly I use it for my revelations and thoughts on my own game. What I've used it for so far:

 Reminders about important things.
 Criticisms I've written about my own field reports, and the lessons I can take away from each experience.
 My own canned material
 Uplifting quotes that I don't want to forget.
 Things I try that worked just how I wanted them too.
 Things I know I can improve.
 Addresses/Phone numbers
 And lessons I learn from the world around me.

I keep the book with me all the time because I never know when I'll think of something that I really don't want to forget.

It's like my very own book of cheat sheets made only from my own experiences and thoughts. It helps a lot to read my own field reports because it lets me spot the holes in my game more easily, where I could have succeeded, and where I will succeed next time.

I encourage everyone to get one. It's great. Even if you have nowhere to improve your game, you can still use it as a book for reminders, or more importantly for girls numbers! haha. Give it a shot, I'm sure you'll see benefits and improvements before long.

Always,

~Muse

Wisely Said...

I always keep a book on me.... In case I forget something...

I even evaluate girls and study them and I write down everything including what techniques I think I should use on them...

It comes to a point where the game flows naturally and the book becomes my memory

This is a good point also, MagicalJet! What helps my memory the most (as I've come to realize in school) is to write things down. It reinforces what you learn 3 times in that:

The first time is remembering what to write down
The second time is actually writing it down,
The third time is reading what you've written.

It works for me anyways. Reading your own thoughts 3 times with just writing it once helps you really internalize the thought and it will become memory with practically no effort! 8)

I've been doing this for a while now.
Mostly it was for story ideas, but ever since I took on the PUA lifestyle, I've been using it for openers, quotes, and the like.
And it's even made a conversation starter sometimes.

I keep one of those, too. Kinda caught me off-guard when a girl wanted to see it and said 'do you use it for girls' emails?'

In response to which I ripped out a page, handed her the pen and said 'Yes, but I'll keep yours out of there because you're "special"' (we had a conversation about her being special - it's the same word for 'special' and 'slightly retarded' in Polish). I still need to come up with a clever line for when an English girl asks to see my notepad.... any thoughts?

I use a PDA. Kinda looks cool to be writing on a handheld computer with a nice stylus. It has a nice silver cover, and I joke about it being a whiskey flask. "Hey, want some whiskey? You look like someone who's fond of the odd drink."

I've been using it for years as a diary, for jotting down philosphical ideas (I do a bit of writing on the side), I use the calendar for all my appointments, dates, etc. I keep a journal in it too. Any time I get a few spare minutes I pull it out and write up an account of the latest developments in my life. It's interesting to go back and read it a year or two later, just to see how far you've come.

I also use it for noting down canned material whenever it comes to me.

For field reports, which are long, I use my laptop because using the stylus can be a bit sore on the hand after a while, I find a keyboard easier for writing long tomes. I file my FRs in one place on my computer as well as posting them here.

Why use a book? I use my phone (a treo). Been doing this for a while. You can also password protect stuff, so when a HB grabs your phone u dont have to worry she will see your stuff.

Kinda funny, since its a phone its completely normal to pull it out at any time. I sometimes pull it out in the middle of a PU of a HB! They think im just txting, but really im looking for material! Works AWESOME!

I do a similar thing, although a little higher tech.

I keep 3x5 cards in my wallet. Jot down my thoughts and ideas.
then when I get home, I type them into my outlook and sync it with my palm treo. that way when i'm out I can refer back to my list of pick up lines and routines and lots of other info as well.

thank you for the affirmation that this is a useful method.

Rock on!

The notebook sounds like a really great idea. I think I'm going to go out today to pick one up.

i've been using the mystery method for almost a year...
but i've carried a note book for daily occurances, different than me journal.. for 6 years. It contains whatever i wanted to remember.
Business model notes, Recipees, Guitar chords and tab, poems, notes on personal improvement and personality traits, my goals, dreams and aspirations, all kind of stuff i feel insecure about.

Yeah its called a black book. Businessmen use it to keep info about their clients. Nothing new.
