Moving out on my own for the first time, any advice?

Location: American Southeast
So I am finally transferring from a university not far from home to an actual state university (division 1a and lots of young kids)

Will be spending about 2 years there.

Any advice for me? socially speaking that is, like adjusting to a new setting and all that

Go there and meet as many people as possible. Knowing more people in your environment is the best way to get to know the place better.

Observe first. Who is popular and why? Think about what you want. Have a concrete focus. A plan with a definitive purpose.

Definitely try new things. Join clubs that you have never thought you would. Go out and explore.

join a good frat. rush week is a straight party week so have fun too. being in a frat is like having pussy in your bed every weekend without needing to put effort into it. join the greek system at your school

Yeah, it might sound lame, but join at least one club. If there's not hot girls or guys you'd like to make friends with in the first meeting then bail and find another club.

Also, honestly, the "I just transferred here and I don't know anyone, can I talk to you" line on a girl actually works really well.
