So i have had class with this girl all semester. She seemed somewhat interested. When id have presentations i noticed her looking, and i helped her study for the final, and we would walk home together occasionally. I Got her number, we have been texting for a few weeks.

This is how the last text ended after i tried to get her to hang out and she led me on thinking we were going to but that told me she wasnt coming. Here is the end of the convo.

Me: You are an impossible girl ya know that? hahaha

HB: I know Being impossible is so much fun

Me: So is being persistent

HB: Persistence doesn't get you anywhere with me haha

Me: Alright so whats the trick?

It's a trap! Seriously though. I've never really gotten anywhere with direct persistence -aloofness worked better, but that requires no longer giving a damn, which is hard. Try and meet other lady's. stay nice to her, but don't be cheesy nice; waving and smiling big when u see her. Just indirectly show her that you have other options, especially with that little comment of hers.

well here is the rest of how the text eventually went. This is hilarious and im pretty sure shes never talking to me again

(Out of no where 40 minutes later she texts)
Her: Man i really want to go to this movie (Clearly shes been toying around this entire movie the whole time

Me: That trains already passed

Her: Damn you got a back up already, you dont mess around. Well ill come anyways and tell her shes the back up

Me: Woah cocky haha who said you werent the back up

Her: Damn sad that you couldnt even get the back up to come then

(Give her credit that was a nice burn haha, and here is where my roommate had a great idea to text this and before it was too late WTFBOOOOOM!)

Me (or my roomate haha): Damn girl that was harsh all that stress from work and school adding up? Been a while?

You should have stuck with having a back-up that's NOT her. You totally changed yourself for HER. NEVER do this. EVER. Congruency is key. Stay congruent. You say something, you stick with it. Don't change for her.

You should have said "Yeah! Come along!" and called her bluff. Hopefully you actually had a back-up.

haha well.... she actually was the back up sooooo nah i didnt. Every other girl i am trying to talk to had finals. Its cool though. Maybe she took as the joke that it actually was (We always text like that with negs and low blows) might have taken it to far there. If so, then just something to learn from
