yo if this post seems incoherent in anyway i offer my apologies post-haste, for i am struggling to string my thoughts together in a textual format.


In recent years and please correct me if im wrong, it seems pua has shifted away from routines into more quasi- spiritual/philosophy.

Is routines bad, negative, or just a primitive form of pick up?

I honestly believe routines are great. there awesomeness simple radiates radioactive awesomes.
it gives newbs something to work with. Training wheels per se. Pickup is alot like riding a bike. alot of guys are afraid to get on that bike for fear they might fall. enter the training wheels which gives chodes a false sense of confidence to try finally riding the woman (i mean bike).

One of my favorite pua's is mystery. Hold the phone don't stop reading yet. Why? frogman why? he's got alot of bullshit rules like the seven hour rule.

Yes he does. what you have to note though is that mystery is a narcissistic, schizophrenic lunatic. Obviously not something to DHV with. So he invented a bunch of routines and tricks to mask his insanity and seem attractive. Is his system perfect or even good? His system may not be for all of us but something that can get a schizo laid consistently is something deserving of respect.

Mystery's downfall though was that he obsessed over his system, while ignoring his faults such as a fragile mind. Routines are great but it should not be the center of anyone's game. Routines are a mask for your faults not a cure.

I think anyone would rather just say and do what they want while in set, but routines are a way that you make sure you are saying and doing things that will attract women.

i disagree with the common definition of routines. I'm not saying go do the cube or a bunch of magic tricks.
I see routines as more of a plan. everyone should have their plans or routines. I like history and myths and so i try to steer the conversation into those territories. I have a few planned things to say to try to get the convo that way. If the girl don't bite i already got other things say. Your routines should be tailored to your personality and interests.

I hate hearing be yourself. Although i agree with it somewhat. Yeah you gotta be yourself but you gotta be something more. Unless your already something exciting like a rockstar or someshit.

I think there's a balance. Since I came up in the game using routines, I love RSDNation's stuff about energy, spirituality, etc. However, if you don't already know how to go out there and meet women - at least the basics - it probably won't do anything for you.

It's kinda like the difference between Physics at a high-school and Ph.D level. If you do the subject at uni or as a researcher, you'll have to forget just about everything you learned as a kid because lot of it is oversimplified or flat-out untrue. But since it'd be impossible to teach true physics to a high-schooler, you need to start somewhere.

The same is true here. Routines may not be the best, but you've got to start somewhere, since you can't expect a beginner to attract women using "energy," "male polarity" etc.
