Hard Next would mean forgetting her and a soft next, perhaps, keeping her in the hindsight, in the expectation of some outcome.

Hard nexting would be deleting her from your cellphone and not answering when she calls. Soft nexting would be never contacting her again unless she contacts you first, or perhaps waiting a month or two then shooting her a text when you are bored or something.
