Hello,

As the title says, I am Dave; I am a 20 year old student from the UK only recently got into the game. I wish I had found it sooner, I only happened upon it by accident by I am so glad that I did. I haven't been out practicing much yet, I am trying to build a solid theory base first (probably not the best way to go about it but that's just what I do). I have been studying for 3 - 4 weeks so I am very much a newbie looking to get better... Much better. I have been single for a few years now - no sex either - so I am looking to get back into the game and this seems by far the best way.

About me personally, I am studying Robotics, which unfortunately is a very male dominated subject, but hey, its good fun - I think. I enjoy poker, have been playing online and live with my Dad going on for 3 years now, we haven't won anything major, just a couple of hundred pounds here and there - hoping for a big win so that I can buy some PUA DVDs. I have trouble with approach anxiety, however with the reading I have been doing I feel more confident in myself that I can overcome it. The main issue I have is my mind goes blank and I fear I will have nothing to say once I have approached a girl. But as I say, after reading lots of books I think if I start with some canned openers until my fear of having nothing to say is gone then I can build from there to become better in the art of pick up.

So yeah, that's me.

I'm new aswell here, welcome to the community!

Well, I guess you pretty much figured your soft points and how to work on them.
My advice about approach anxiety is to use the "3 second rule".

(you see some girl that you like, in less than 3 seconds you go to her)
(use an opener, small-talk then neg.)
