Human beings and Love. Can we humans truly show love? Can we love selflessly and without condition? True love is that unconditional love we show to our fellow human.

I'm really glad you brought back a topic from 10 months ago in order to deduce that love = love.

I was lately reading Steven Covey's 7 habits, and he made a good point: that love is not just a feeling, but sth you do for the other person.

I think love can be analysed in term of giving/receiving. When you love someone, you invest your time and effort in that person.

Love is an ultimate friendship between two people. Its an unconditional connection that you have with the opposite sex (unless of course your homosexual). Lust is common but love is rare! I have been in lust with many many women but only in love with one!

For example, my current gf (who I have been with for 3 1/2 year) is very very attractive, but if she gained 50lbs, or wasn't as attractive I would still always have that connection with her...would I be less attracted to her? of course lol im not going to kid myself, and perhaps we would break up, but I would always love the girl! we have shared to much with each other! and we have a social and emotional connection that is rare! We have the kind of relationship that if we broke up and ran into each other 10 years later, I have no dout there would still be feelings.

"Love is like if someone gave you a button and said press this for a free cookie, but everytime you press that button you get shat on your head by a seagull.

But every once in a 100 times you actually get the cookie and it is the best damn cookie you have ever had. This cookie is the best thing in the world, but eventually the cookie finishes and you have to press the button again, and you realise just to taste that cookie again you are willing to get shat on another 99 times.

And one day the cookies stop coming altogether."

I think everyone has felt love even if it wasn't reciprocated they just dont understand it.

Love is the same as all your other feelings, just little electrical signals shooting around your brain that induce the release of certain hormones. Its a form of entertainment that in a modern day society; just like everything else, is disposable.

Personally I think its an aged notion that only exists because its useful for raising kids, that being said its no longer needed because we live in such large groups that children can be raised by a neighbour. There is no need anymore for parents.

But just maybe I am too young and immature to understand

People can say what they want but I believe in love. I have dated a lot of women! and when you find someone who you love it really is different! I'm not saying its a disney fairy tail but love does exist. Its a physical and emotional compatibility, a friendship, and something that is rare to come by!

When you love someone you will never "fall out of love" you might break up but those feelings stick with you.

We need to first fully understand human condition before we can truly love.
