However, theres a guy in our social group (he's a bit, odd) who often makes comments, or sometimes just insults in general... see, he puts it down to banter, but I'm not so sure, I'd say its more an attempt at him lowering my value.
So that as it is, how best to react?

A lot of times those comments get said as an aside, and not as a full blown attack. But if you respond to them sharply, it might shock the person a little bit and make them feel bad or intimidate them. I would recommend doing that, but not necessarily be aggressive or confrontational, because you don't want to get into a fight over it if you don't have to. _________________ “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'!” ~Audrey Hepburn

"aww that's cute, please tell me more"
and then move on with the conversation with the other members of the group. _________________ TruthLoveLaugh

It makes him the friend of a chump. If amog I would lose him when out looking for girls. I've done it in the past. I don't know why I did but I think it was a jealousy thing. _________________ Why guys and girls don't mesh.

Whenever he does this though, I just raise my eyebrows to other people or girls that are with us and they just end up thinking he's a total dick.
I don't actively sarge with him though because when he's had a few drinks he is just an obnoxious prick.
