I've been reading for months but made an account because of what happened on the bus this morning

So this hb 6.5 sits next to me but I just greeted and closed my eyes cause she took out her phone to listen to music and I wanted to sleep. Then when I wanted to check the time, my desire to show off my phone's unlock animation to her subtly took over. I unlocked the phone and on the 3.7 inch screen pops up the unclosed browser with last night's porn viewing on - some girl giving a bj full on the screen. She got such a shock she actually jerked her head back but didn't say anything.

I got such a shock the phone nearly fell out of my hand! So I closed the browser as quick as I could, put the phone slowly in my pocket and closed my eyes repeating, "She doesn't know you, it doesn't matter what she thinks" to myself until the burning in my face went away. I looked her straight in the eyes when I got off

How would you guys have handled that situation? Would a, "That's embarrassing.." comment to address it right there have been better? I doubt this will happen again unless you think that this could be used as an opener

Any ideas guys?

Since you've been reading a while, you probably came across setting realities at some point.

Ofcourse, this is embarassing as hell! But it could be used as an opener.

Simply by saying "Well.. that's embarrassing" as you mentioned yourself, or by saying something like "Yeah.. That's NOT what I was going to show you.."

I suppose anything would be better than closing your eyes and pretend it didn't happen. If you just had sat the reality that, "yeah this was embarrassing, but only as a laughing matter" you definitely could have gamed her. Unless ofcourse she freaked out and said something like "get away from me you pervert!" .. Then closing your eyes might've been a good idea!

Now, in the highly unlikely event that she decides to, or is forced to sit next to me again. What are my options?

To be honest, I would say that you've pretty much screwed up beyond repair. However, this is hard to tell since I don't know her exact response to the situation.

If she sits down next to you again on the bus tho, that would mean that you haven't "scared her away". I would probably say something like "Sorry to dissapoint you, but the show only runs on tuesdays and thursdays!" (if it's not one of those days ofcourse). And then you should have a conversation going!

Honestly, it does not matter how it made her feel, the problem was how you let it affect YOU! We have the power to control our reaction to any situation that comes our way. You had a great opportunity to turn that situation into a funny opener. You got really embarrassed and lost the moment, you may never get that chance again.

If you know she saw what was on your phone, your best option would be to point it out, i.e. address the elephant in the room. Showing that you were capable of overcoming the embarassment of the situation would show a lot of alpha quality.

Remember: You cannot always control your environment, but you can control how you react to it!

You could say "Ha! I gotcha!" then explain that you do this to people all the time just to mess with them. It doesn't really matter how crude or unfunny it is if you play it off and act like it was intentional. Because then you are a creepy guy who is confident. Shit happens..move on and you can basically do anything you want, there are no limits. You could've told her "What? What are you looking at? My name's xxx" or you could've just pretended nothing happened or not even giving a fuck..
