I’ve been trying to convert a HB8 into a potential FWB and to a degree I feel I’ve somewhat succeeded (I’ve bedded her 3 times now, but it’s not on tap yet) however I’m sure she’s on a rebound – she keeps talking about her ex, I purposely just acknowledge that she said it (little emotion or advice) and move the conversation on.

(I might have answered my own question at this point)

I've avoided her other shit tests such as she's dating other guys etc. (trying to make me jealous) which is expected really, we're not in a relationship, but this one is really bugging me (I try not to think into things too much).

We were texting yesterday and I tried to turn the conversation sexual gradually and she gave me an initial shit test saying she’s “Gonna be good for a while” and I called her out on it, saying “you be good? Haha!... I’m thinking you’re on the turn” (becoming gay).

This is the rest of the conversation (including the bad spelling/grammar):

HB8: Honest... Anoo haha bt I’m not I love c*ck jst wanna chill out without havn sex xxxx
Me: You love c*ck... good to know Well its not all about that... but as guy has needs though xxx
HB8: Anoo but I jst wanna ave abit time just without some, be nice ... and anoo guys have needs nt reli my problem tho lol xxxx
Me: Guess you’re right. Wouldn’t wanna wear it out now would we xxx ***I dunno wtf I agreed with her for***
HB8: I’m jst gna be good fr a few months xxxx
Me: Months?!? You gotta be kidding me... haha xxx
HB8: No i’m not kiddin :S xxxx
Me: You’ll end up humping my leg when you want some... haha xxx
HB8: I wont xxxxx
Me: We’ll see... xxx

I tried to handle this best I could by making humour, but felt I could have done much better in hindsight.
We hang out together occasionally, but I don’t wanna keep hanging out with her if I’m not getting my end of the deal, otherwise I’ll slip into her friendzone.

I can take it or leave it at this point, but i’m choosing my next move carefully as I feel there is way more potential left in this.
She knows her way around the bedroom which is a bonus for me (best I’ve had in a little while) and I know she has these outfits which I’d like to charm her into at some point, so if it’s salvageable that would be the better option.

What do you guys think? Any input is appreciated

I agree, the best thing I can do is escalate in person and see how that goes.
I'm not afraid of pulling the trigger, I just don't want to shoot myself in the foot.

An interesting note to add, I went for a STI screening (just regular routine - nothing serious) it just came up in conversation as it was relevant at the time (I'll omit the graphic details), I told her I hate wearing condoms, but I told her I always play safe unless there's alternative precautions in place.

A couple days later, to my surprise, she told me she also went for a screening so now we're both waiting on results, if anything that was a big, yet unintended compliance test so I assumed something was on the cards, although didn't read too much into it.

Nobody needs a reason to get tested to ensure they're in ship shape in that department, perhaps it was just because I mentioned it, but part of me thinks we are both on the same wavelength, then she dropped the above bombshell, so its really thrown my judgement.

I think she mentioned it for a reason, if shes on the pill it might mean some nice condomless nights ahead for you ;)

From the sounds of it it was just a shit test earlier and you're still in the clear for sexytimes :D
