Wondering whether or not any of you have taken the time to read the memoirs of Casanova? I found a translation online but there's a lot to read and I don't want to waste my time if it doesn't reveal any useful information.

Here's a link if anyone's interested:

No problem! If you read it, or at least some of it, please post here and share with me what you thought, I've got a lot of other stuff on the go right now so I dont have time to read it unless I know it's going to be worthwhile

what kind of attitude is this?

A shitty one.

For most gems you'll have to dig through alot of shit to get to them.

that's life, deal with it.

I've already come across this link in my time and if you find casanova an interesting character then read it. Simple as that.

I don't know about you...but I like to read stuff that's interesting. If you find material while you're reading even better.

Hell even Sun Tzu's The Art of War and Miyamoto Musashi's The Book of Five Rings have stuff that is applicable to self betterment and thus to pickup.

“Today is victory over yourself of yesterday; tomorrow is your victory over lesser men.” - Musashi

Agreed, I keep a copy of the Art of War and Robert Greenes Art of Seduction on my table. Anybody that sits on my couch should know not to fuck with me. :-) Kidding, but Art of Seduction covers Casanova. Its a great historical reference for many seducers, both men and women, thru the centuries. I would pick it up.

Not at all. I'm filling my time with things worthwhile - I'm currently reading a lot of other interesting material. Why "dig through shit" myself if there's someone else who's already done it? Oil drilling companies aren't going to drill in a location unless they know that there's oil there. It's a case of efficiency and time management, both of which are very useful skills in life. Why waste my time reading blocks and blocks of potentially useless information when I could simply ask the question "Is this going to be worthwhile?" and get the answer of "Yes" or "No" from someone who's already taken the time to read it. Based on what you're saying, we should just get rid of the "Review" section of the forum.

However, I do understand what you're saying about reading it based on my interest in Casanova's character, and I do plan on reading it eventually regardless of whether or not it contains a lot of pick-up related information, but I need to prioritize as I currently have a tight schedule and, as I said, there's a lot to read. My attitude is one of constant self improvement and I'm trying to do so in an efficient manner.

Thanks for the recommendation, I've heard about that particular book before so I think I'll pick it up next time I get the chance :)
