All right. First off, I'll start off by saying that me and this girl have been best friends since I dated her little sister (she's 3 years older than me) over 8 years ago. Things went south with me and her sister after she tried to kill herself (and I was there to save her life) which also put me in good with the family. I then casually hung out with Ber (friends name) for years before I gained a serious interest for her. Ever since then it's been crazy.

She constantly tells me that she wants to find a guy like me... That her dream guy is me but a little different. Yada yada yada.

I've made some moves but none were successful. I've tried hinting that I'm into her for years and again, nothing worked.

About two years ago I joined the Marine Corps. Ever since I left she has been different. When I go home, it's like she's crazy about me. But, when I come back to base, she's really talkative with me for a couple of months, then she falls off the face of the earth.

She has walked out with every other guy but me. I guess what I'm wondering is, is she worth pursuing? If so, how the hell do I rid myself of this "FZ" tag? She is coming to visit me in RI at the end of the month for her birthday and I want to show her a really good time, but should I just be the usual blah me, or should I try and up it a notch and be way more outgoing, etc..?

Also, if the conversation does come up, should I just blatantly tell her how I feel?

Next time you go away and come back, be that different guy she wants!
Tell her (don't ask TELL(obviously, in a playful way)) to meet with you for drinks. Then when you're out with her, be funny, DHV, and escalate kino. Make sure you kiss her that night, the longer you put it off, the more likely you'll fall back into the friend zone.
