How can you tell when a woman is smiling at you because she likes you and when she is smiling because she is laughing about you?

I don't mean like laughing in voice and stuff, I mean smiling because she is laughing about you inside. No one will laugh directly in the face, at least it hasn't happened to me in a long time.

It shouldn't matter. You just interpret it the best way you can. In this case just assume she likes you. Your opinion about yourself should be stronger than hers and the frame will eventually shift into your favor.

I'm not asking about a particular situation but in general. It happens often. For example happened twice in a row yesterday, and I got quite angry. I might maybe miss an opportunity because of getting angry.
