However, here is where eye contact, smiling, and kino come into play. BODY LANGUAGE is your best friend! When she gets close to you whisper in her ear...something like "I like how you dance, but you're having trouble keeping up with me." and smile!
If you want to move her out of the dance floor to some where more private to talk just saying something like, "Seems like you look thirsty with all these dancing and trying to keep up with me. Let's go grab you a water or drink" smile and grab her hand and move her to the bar.
This works for me all the time.

If the girl suddenly stops dancing, I kind of take that as she's bored. You really have two moves here, either get her interest again (with words) or walk away.
