What defines success in high school? Is it getting the highest grades, getting the most women, earning first chair in your school's band as the tambourine player? Bill Gates got picked on in high school and had no friends. Stephen King failed English class. Michael Jordan was cut from the high school basketball team. They seemed to have had an immaculate transformation.
All the perceived losers and nerds in my high school are now doing pretty well with their lives. All the hot girls back then are now fat and ugly, or have 6 kids and an abusive husband. A lot of of the previously ugly girls developed into absolute beauties. I can't think of a single jock in my high school that is doing anything remotely useful with his life. They have shitty jobs and limited levels of education. They still get the women; but guess what? They're low quality women at best. I know it sounds like a fairy tale with a happy ending, but honestly, the way people turn out is poetic justice and one of the few things in life where karma actually exists. Maybe my high school class was unique, but I don't think so.
I agree that high school shouldn't be ignored and shouldn't be viewed as something you're just "passing through". However, it's also important to realize that in a worst case scenario, things DEFINITELY improve after high school if that's what you want.
I agree with your last part. Things are definatly alot different outside of high school. People mature, life gets more interesting imo. And knowing this bit, that things get better after high school, use it to your advantage. Try to become more social, more confident and more approachable. Work on some "canned" lines or routines. If they fail, you never use them again. If they work, consider why. Start now and it'll become second nature after high school and you'll be having an easier time.
To answer your question about success in high school - I can't say if there is an actual definition. I can try and give my best idea though. To me, success in high school would be about finding your "niche". Whether you're a jock, a gym rat, a musician in a band, a talented singer, a party'er, a ladies man, a drama person, etc. etc. Finding what your good at and letting it shine throughout your time in high school. You'll be alot happier being in high school if you have things to look for - For me, it was the sports. I played football and basketball and couldn't wait for practice and games.
When you look at all the kids that are generally (I am being stereotypical here but in high school stereotypes are quite the norm anyway) "losers" or "unpopular" they are socially awkward for the most part. They are weird, strange, whatever you want to call them. Generally the ones that are quiet as well. The people who could stand in front of a class and present an excellent presentation were more successful, no? They were generally the more populr kids. They were less socially awkward and more confident. I think this is where PUA can come into play - You learn confidence on your journey. When you have this extra confidence, speaking in front of a class becomes easy and when you are more confident people will listen to you. Those socially awkward kids are never heard because they're never confident.
Yes, we all know Bill Gates had a terrible high school experience and is now rich as hell but I don't think this is the norm. I know a few "nerds" who have ended up doing nothing so far in their life. Why? They are socially awkward and have a difficult time communicating in daily life. I also know jocks or stoners who were popular in high school who are doing nothing with their life as well. There are those nerds who are finishing their degrees and there are those popular kids that are finishing their degrees as well.
I think finding that happy medium where you are successful in school but successful with people is the key to a good job and a better life. I also believe PUA can help one become good at both things. If you gain the confidence to talk to people you gain the edge to be confident in an interview, in a new job SPAM, and ultimately in your gain for women. I'm not going to sit here and say that studying PUA is going to turn you into a successful man making 100K a year and having sex with hundreds of women BUT I will say that you can find yourself happier or at the very least somewhat satisfied with your life.
Anyways, a bit long and I'm sure we agree more than disagree in this matter but like I said I just had an issue with the whole mentality that you should try and get by in high school. I mean, I see people on here claiming that gaming women can happen anywhere. Why not in high school?
