I've heard openers can be just about anything, It's more about how you say them that matters and what comes after the opener is more important is this true?

Would this come off as lame or would It actually be a good icebreaker? Would this be usable with girls In the UK?

Openers are one thing im good at, and with my experience there are a couple of rules while opening a girl. One of these rules is the following:

1) They have to give you information you can use to continue the conversation. So they either have to make her tell something about herself (positive points about her not including her beauty opener) or tell her something about her beliefs.

Depending on her answers you can neg her, compliment her, tease her or whatever.


2) DHV.
Seriously, an opener that lowers your value even before you can enter mid game is bad.

3) Show you are a confident and selective man, and be different than the 1000 openers she has heard before that.


Your opener fails at point one and 3.
1) Doesnt give you any information you can work with about her or her beliefs
3) Doesnt show this in any way, and probably she has once been opened already with a lame joke like that.

It might DHV by showing that you have some humor, but telling a joke she probably has heard before wont DHV you, but DLV. In other words, it is even a gamble, if she has heard that joke before or not.
