I'm about to go out to my first day in the field tomorrow. I just got into the game recently but I need to get the ball rolling. I'm heading down to the local mall and I was wondering if anyone could give me some last minute pointers. My goal is just to try to engage in conversations. Don't really have any plans on even number-closing, but hey, if it happens, I'm not going to complain. Also I'm only 18 so I'm sorta limited to what I can say in order to fit girls my age and the location.
I'll post my report most likely in this same post and it'd be great of someone could help critique my first day out in the field.

PS, I'm not sure if its allowed to post pre-field reports, if not let me know and I'll adjust it.

Sounds like you're doing the newbie challenge which is great. The whole point is to get rid of/decrease your AA so by opening any and everyone you will slowly care less and less about what others might think.
The main tip I can give you is to just relax and be natural and stick to the three second rule. Basically, don't wait longer than three seconds to approach or say hi to a set or a target otherwise you'll overthink the whole thing and you won't engage anyone.
Just remember, it doesn't matter if people don't say hi or respond to you (although most will as it's difficult to ignore someone, even a stranger, if they talk directly to you).
You will quickly learn that people not responding or saying anything back isn't that bad. Think of it this way, in the end what did you lose? This was someone you didn't know to begin with but who you gave a chance to so they could get to know you and they fucked it up. It's their loss not yours. Remember that. They're the ones missing out on getting to know you, not the other way around. Like Style would say: "You're the prize."

Good luck and I hope what I said helps!

Looking forward to reading your fieldreport.
