Heres the thing genital herpes is probably not the end of the world. Its a skin condition. 1 out of every 4 girls has it and 1 out of every 10 guys has it. If you contract it you may have to take a pill every day for the rest of your life. Every sexual partner you have from there on will be at risk. I think its one thing if you were to accidentally contract it but its another thing to know in advance. My advice is get to know this girl for a while an make sure its something you really want to do. Statistically you wont marry this girl...so take it slow. There are tons of other girls out there that you would be equally compatible with and you could still have her as a friend.

That's why I always laugh when people say they wouldn't date someone who has cold sores (oral herpes). The numbers on that one are astounding.

I read that 80% of the people who have genital herpes don't know they have it because they have yet to have symptoms. Shit happens but it's all the more reason to have safe sex and be responsible.

I think some need to do more research and see that herpes depending what kind isn't all that bad really. As long as the girl is taking her medication and you do her when she isn't flared up and wear a condom you be fine. Yes there is a chance you may get it, but there is always a chance you can get her pregnant even with a condom on as well. You either take the risk and have sex or whack off instead because either can happen and die a virgin.

666, have you ever been tested for genital herpes (it's a blood test)? 80% of people who have genital herpes never get symptoms. There are a ton of sexually active people who have herpes and will never know it (because they don't test for it and they don't get symptoms). You may want to check and see if you already have it.
