Okay today was one of the craziest days I've ever had. It all started when my friends and I went to the mall. And I basically had no approach anxiety whatsoever.

I approached a 3 set with 1 guy and 2 girls. And a single set with a flippin HB 10 at Payless Shoes. My friends were soo shocked that I even had a conversation with her : D Wow she was really hot. I was trying not to stare at her boobs.

Now, after I've made couple of more approaches I was really done with my missions. But, then I saw a 4 set with 3 guys and a cute girl in there. Considering that there were more guys than girls, I thought I could test my opening skills with an impossible set.

Anyways, I go in with all my confidence I've accumulated and here's what happened:

Me: Hey I need your take on this guys. This will only take a second I have to get back to my friends.

AMOG 1: What the fuck do you want?

AMOG 2: Dude, you just came out of nowhere. Who the fuck are you?

Girl: (Listened in closely and started to stroke her hair)

Other Guy: (Didn't say shit)

Me: Calm down guys it's only a question. The only reason why I'm asking is because my friend and I were trying to figure this out, and we thought it would be better if I would get your perspectives.

Girl: Let's hear what he has to say.

AMOG 1: Make it quick.

Me: Okay here I go, dental floss before or after you brush?

AMOG 2: Wtf kind of question is that?

Girl: After I think, wow that's a good question.

Okay at this point all the guys were getting pissed, Only the girl was responding well to me.

Me: Alright, thanks for your opinion

AMOG 2: (Goes up to my face) I fucking don't like people like you, going out and asking questions. I know what you're trying to do?

Me: What do you think I'm trying to do?

AMOG 1: You're trying to get one of us out of the group and beat us up in the parking lot.

Now, I'm really confused and kinda worried. Everybody was looking, and my friends looked like they were going to intervene and fight those guys on the spot. Remember, this is at the mall right outside the Apple store.

Girl: STOP IT! STOP IT JEFF! He was just asking a question!

Before anything else happened, we all got out of the mall at one piece. And just went to my friend's house.

Now I know the dark side of all of this. There's always a chance to get other people offended. And the worst case scenario, would be that an approach actually backfire.

i know that I've approached in a non threatening way. It was over the shoulder. And I even did a time constraint verbally and physically by telling them I was going to leave, and having my foot back acting like I was going to leave.

I need some time to think after this, and wonder what I've done wrong.

I'm not going to stop trying to learn and make better of myself with the game. I feel like I've gotten soo far, and my better self is coming out of the shell.

But hell, this is a day I'll never forget in a long time.

Sounds to me like you did everything right, the guy was just a jerk. Don't let this get ya down man, this was a VERY extreme case. I live in Utah where the most insecure men on the planet live(lol not a statistic) and I've never had this happen most guys are friendly and try to answer the question honestly. One thing I would have done to DHV (that I saw on another post here about becoming the alpha male sorry I can't give credit cause I can't find the post) is say something like "woah tough guy I'm not trying to fight you guys I'm just asking a simple question" This makes him look like a jackass for getting out of hand. After the tough guy remark I imagine he would get more defensive and start pushing the issue... Then I would start in with the "What are you 12? You gonna start a fist fight in the middle of the mall, Scary!!" Then ask him if he wants to arm wrestle instead(and flex your good arm)... By doing this you make him look dumb and take away his steam because he knows you aren't scared of him.

you should have added a disqualifierf/neg, to ease the guys minds you weren't there to steal their female, and used some of the AMOG tactics described above

The first time she opened her mouth, you should have said something along the lines of "hey now, this ones just for the guys". Negging her in front of the males would put them more at ease with you.

All that being said, it would have taken some REAL creativity to isolate the target in this situation.

You didn't do anything wrong. Sounds to me like you did everything right, and you made a lot of progress.

Now imagine how much easier it will be to approach a single or a set of girls only.
