The first step should be to stop segregating it from your "game", it's not really another field exclusive from the rest. Texting is basically exchange of written dialogue. Treat it as if you were having a casual chat with the other person, the only difference being that you cannot physically see them in front of you.
If you need to convey emotions and moods more effectively, then you could utilize the emoticons. Basically, what I mean to say is do not get worked up over something as simple as 'texting'.
Now, you can re-approach her with a "Hey, how is your day going today?" text and lead the conversation from there, as you would in-person.
