| Hello guys! Yesterday I did day 6 of the Stylelife Challenge from the book The Rules of the Game. Mission 2 for the day was to approach four women and give them a compliment, avoiding the really bad ones like telling them they are beautiful or hot.
On the train into town, I gave my first compliment. I bought a ticket on the train, and the woman I bought it from had a lot of exotic rings. I asked her if they had any significance, she said "no", and I told her they looked cool.
I got into town, and AA hit me hard. I saw a lot of women I could compliment, but chickened out of it time after time. My AA must have kept me from approaching for about an hour. I decided that enough was enough, and complimented a foreigner in the street on her cool jacket (which was actually quite ordinary), and went into a bar and complimented a girl on her beautiful eyes (they were). 3 of 4 done.
The last one was a girl I saw walking down the street. I wanted to get home, so figured I should get to bus. She was walking in the same direction, but I never seemed to be able to make a natural approach. We crossed paths 2-3 times. When I got to the bus station, I noticed she was there as well.
"Randomly" passing by her, I stopped her to ask her if she was following me. She denied that she was, and asked whether I was following her. She was smiling, and had obviously seen me at some earlier crossings. I told her that I thought she was stalking me, and that it was kinda weird, but that she had a nice smile. She wasn't sure about that, since she had bracers, but I told her that the bracers weren't a problem at all, and that the most important thing about her smile was that her whole face was "glowing" with happiness. She had an accent, so I wanted to guess where she was from. With a little help from her I guessed that she was Ukranian. She though it was her looks that gave it away, but it was her accent, and I told her as much. We continued talking about stuff like her country and how she had to wait for the next bus so I didn't have to have her stalking me when I went home. I started calling her "borch" (not sure of the spelling in english), which is a traditional Ukranian meal. I told her my ex was Russian (I am still recovering, but I didn't tell miss borch that), so I had eaten quite a bot of borch in my time. Anyway, when her bus arrived, I she went on it and I told her I didn't think I could take this bus. I went to ask the driver where he was going, and it turns out I could take it after all. I found her again, and she smiled as I sat down. "This time it is me who is following you" I said, and she smiled. The conversation on the bus was about various stuff. I tried to let her talk more than me, being friendly but fun to talk to.
In the end, I had to get of first, which I did. After, I was kinda annoyed that I didn't try to get any of her contact info. She seemed quite a bit younger than me, but I thought she was cute and I enjoyed the conversation. Also, practice is practice. I didn't think I had the skilles to escalate, nor to number/E-mail/Facebook close. It seemed intimidating to know that I could screw up the conversation by attempting to escalate, and I wasnt sure I could close without first having escalated.
The goal for the evening wasn't to make any closes, but to fight AA by approaching. I am quite new to PU. Still, if you have any comments on my game, I would love to hear them. Today is day 7, and I hope I can conquer my AA today as well. Time to hit the shower!
