I have gone to the club solo before, but I've always picked a scene where it wasn't as crowded or I was real familiar with. This was about 3 years ago. I'm considering going to the club solo on July 4th and was hoping someone would have tips. Besides getting a few drinks when I walk in ;)

I've just started having success going out solo, so there are a few things I can mention.

1. Talk to people instantly. Even if you just say "hi," you need to talk to everyone. If you talk to everyone, it will feel less like you're there alone. Hell, sometimes other people will engage you in conversation, introduce themselves, and once that happens you aren't there alone anymore.

2. Know why you're out alone. Girls may ask if you're there by yourself. I always say that every time I'm out with friends I end up babysitting, so I can relax more when I'm out alone.

3. 3second rule is even more important now. If you sit in a corner and leer at women, waiting minutes before approaching one, people will notice. You gotta act fast.

4. Put the drink down. Don't lean over the bar cross-armed, or hold your drink in front of you the whole time. Defensive body language screams nervousness, and once you are nervous, she will get nervous.

5. Have fun. Solo nights out can be a lot of fun, so don't make the night about meeting women. Make it about having a fun night.

I go out alone 9 out of 10 times and have loads of fun. I recommend that you do that often and go to the same places every time. Become a regular and run game on the men and women working at your bar/club of choice. Not to seduce you sexually but to win them over. Make them like you. Being high fived by the bouncer when you enter and greeted with a heartfelt hug by the barmaids wi8ll give you social proof and value beyond belief! (And it will also get you free drinks as a side effect lol).

Also once the hired guns have realized that you "do well" with the women coming there, it will come in handy in case you get interested in one of the cute barmaids. That kind of validation will work for you both ways. Sure does for me ;)

I know this advice is not as helpful for your first solo night out. For that follow through the advice DJ_Z offered above and you´ll have fun! Consider what I suggest a long-term investment.

Go get them tiger ;)

I really want to try a solo night out a couple nights a week to really get some game going, my friends go out drinking once every weekend if I'm lucky and it feels like I'm missing out on tons of practice.

I'm gonna have to grit my teeth an bare it, I'm just worried about constantly DLV myself because I keep thinking 'omg I'm here on my own' - pretty sure that's all in my head aslong as I'm not proping up the bar, nursing a pint all night (staying well away from the hypnotic dance floor too).

That's some sound advice DJ_Z and Picun thanks :)
