| I'll get straight to it.
My friend, let's call him Edward Cullen (you'll see why) isn't your typical guy. Usually, I find that the people who have trouble picking up girls are nearly always the nice guys, who don't believe in 'drunk sex' and 'one-nighters', yet would never say no to one. They are perfectly normal, yet they have giant issues when it comes to PUA. When given a few simple tips, they get on their way to becoming the next biggest ladies man.
Edward Cullen makes this impossible for three reasons:
1) He actually thinks he is a vampire. More likened to a True Blood vampire then a Twilight one, he actually creeps me out with this. If you piss him off, he makes vampire growls. If you try beat him in an arm wrestle, he makes vampire growls. If you ask to do anything he doesn't want you to do....you get the picture. Plus, he's a quality actor, so he makes it quite realistic.
2) He's a nice guy, but he's so....clingy? He believes in true love at his age (17), and pretty much gets oneitis over every single girl he meets whom "he deems worthy". He is also very stalker-ish. He has had several 'internet girlfriends' which he counts as real relationships. Out of these 6 girlfriends in total, his first kiss was still much later with a guy in Truth or Dare.
3) He is incredibly egotistical and arrogant. He genuinely thinks he is God's gift, a perfect model and the best person in his friend group. It's not like he's bad-looking, and he has brilliant confidence from his acting skills. However, this gets in the way of everything he does. He physically can't go for a girl of the same attractiveness to him. He has to go for girls who are completely out of his league (technically, I don't believe in leagues, but for the sake of argument...). He is also so over-emotional in everything he does. But never over-emotionally happy. He is stuck on a creepy, depressing and boring loop.
This takes me to my point. I've tried everything to help him out. I've tried approaching girls with him, I've told him to lighten up so he can be more fun and I've told him to smile more. The result? He stalked girls in town, he became even creepier and his smile looks like something out of The Shining.
I don't want to give up on this guy. I reckon he can use that ego, that confidence and that persistence to good use in the world of PUA. But it's proving damn-near impossible to get there.
What would you guys recommend?
N.B. We are both 17, so PUA can get quite limited in the area.
