Alright, I'm sure we are all in agreement that Style is the man. That goes without saying. But there's one thing I simply have to wonder about Style's game that, to my knowledge, he has never mentioned. As chronicled in his book, much of Style's time was spent in Los Angeles. During this period he talks about how he sarged almost everyday and was getting laid constantly (had something like 5 LTRs to boot). Anyways, he credits all his success to his hard work becoming a PUA along with his own developing inner game. One thing about this story bugs me though...

Say you are Style, and you are out in a club or a coffee shop or wherever in L.A. You open some sort of HB set. You run the best-friends test, rings routine, whatever you like at the time. At some point, be it during attraction or comfort, you have to mention to this HB THAT YOU ARE A WRITER FOR ROLLING MOTHERFUCKING STONE MAGAZINE. This vocation is not insignificant. Just about every HB in L.A. is out to become an attress, model, musician...something in the entertainment industry. And as a result they are DYING for any connections they can make, let alone with someone who is A WRITER FOR ROLLING MOTHERFUCKING STONE MAGAZINE. In my mind, this fact MUST have helped Style's game to some degree. Yet I've never heard him talk about it once. I mean, before his "transformation," the guy was already starring in Beck videos and touring with Motley Crue. You don't think that's a built-in, ready-made, enormous DHV that he could have used in a place like Hollywood?

Has anyone else ever thought this? Does Style ever address this fact? I know he doesn't in his very long and detailed book. Of course this doesn't detract from his accomplishments, as he's had so many, but I just think its worth noting. Thoughts? Comments? Opinions? Death threats?

The key to become real mPUA is to have great and succesfull "ordinary" life. No matter how good you are in using all PU arsenal, with time it all becomes less and less important and what becomes important is who you really are. For example, who do U think will get more HB`s layed: PUA who knowes everything about PU but has no job, lives with parents, has no car, never travelled anywhere outside of his city etc. Or some AFC but who has nice job, good salary, nice condo, cool car and bike, who travels a lot etc.?

Style has cool job which he never left. He was never full time PUA guru who lives from seminars and workshops. He created himself great "ordinary" life but he learned great PUA skills which IMPROVED his life in great deal. But, in essence, he is still RS journalist!

PU should never be purpose of someones life, it should be only really great addition to someones life.

At least thats how I see it and as such it works brilliant for me!

Actually Style HAS said that being a writer is NOT sexy and will NOT help you get laid. He doesn't, or hasn't, come right out and say that he's a writer for that very reason. He talks about that in The Game.

Hell, I'm a writer, and my stories will actually get women VERY, VERY turned on. But telling them that I'm a writer right off the bat? NO WAY.

Style also said that rolling with Motley Crue and doing things like that NEVER GOT HIM LAID.

His own words. That's one big reason he got into PU to begin with.

Actually, Style talks about it in the Annhilation DVD series. He tells a group of students how he wasn't getting laid even when hanging out with rock stars. He shows a picture of himself before his transformation. Check it out. You'll see why he wasn't getting laid.

Oh, I totally understand how/why he wasn't getting laid despite his job before the transformation. My point of the original post was that he had this great DHV aspect about him (his job) but wasn't using it properly (or at all, for that matter). Once he learned how to properly implement his job into the pick-up, I'm sure it became something that helped him out a lot. So when I said, "he never talks about how his job helped him get ladies," I meant he never talks about how he uses it to score POST-transformation.

Furthermore, though I know that a true PUA can pick up chicks as a garbagemen, what you do for a living matters. Any garbageman PUA would trade places with an equally talented rockstar PUA in a heartbeat. The problem with Style pre-transformation was how people viewed who he was in his job. You can look like a geeky, booky, nerdy writer who just tails rockstars while taking notes, or you can look like Neil does now and make people believe you are PART of the action you are documenting. The first image is what Style used to be, and that's not attractive. The second image is extremely attractive. And come on, you're telling me that he NEVER used a DHV story with an HB one night in LA about interviewing Brittany Spears or having Courtney Cox stay with him? He seems too smart NOT to do that.

Actually, he told Tyler Durden post-transformation that being a writer isn't sexy. I'm not saying he doesn't use it today, because I don't know. But I do know he's stated those things. So, when him and Mystery were taking the world by storm, being a writer wasn't sexy, so he didn't use that in just the straightforward way we would think.
