There's only truly been a couple of instances where I have really picked up girls at parties and those times were merely through pure luck. One time it was because a girl was into my darth vader backpack and she was drunk so she just randomly approached me. The other time...well I have very vague memories of that night.

I've been often told that it's easiest to pick up girls at parties but it seems as though I still struggle for some reason, so I wanted your advice. How do you guys pick up girls at parties? thanks in advance.

The same way you pick up a girl on the street, just talk to her.Keep it simple, if she is wearing a costume then make a funny comment about it or if it's a "normal" regular party then approach to her and make a comment about the party, if it's a house party you can say " Who would believe .... knew so may people" remember that all you need is an excuse to start a conversation that's all.
If it's not a house party you can just say " How do you like this cheap bear" or something like that.

by taking to girls geeez.... I find it so frustrating these questions. It as simple and just saying Hi. She is not going to make fun of you or anything.

One point I must make about parties though is social proof. Talking to everyone and being social makes you alot more attractive.

Make friends with everyone else first. Like sooc said, if everyone knows you and thinks your funny its going to be a lot easier.

I should have been much more clear with this post. I don't have a problem with openers. It's closers that I really have a problem with. I know how to engage the girl ESPECIALLY at parties but I'm not completely sure on how to close the deal.

You are already losing the battle. Change how you talk to yourself, it has nothing to do with "luck". Put yourself out there and mingle with the people attending the party. Enjoy yourself.
