This is my first post and actual question. I'be decided that I want to learn the art of pick up as this can lead to a much more fun life. I have my look down, which I consider to be a good step before actually learning the game. I've read through much articles and have some of the basics down. My problem right now is IOIs. I get many of these all the time but seems that I lack the skill to approach and what to say when I'm even there. I freeze up during mid conversation with anybody I don't know, including MEN! It seems as if something is wrong. So I was wanting to know if anybody or a few of you could help me in this small dilemma of mine.
Practice man, practice. Keep doing it and you will work through it. I think you may be freezing up as the whole approach thing is new and the enrves are playing up. Just keep doing it and you'll get through it.
Look at it like driving. When you first start to learn everytime you even get in a car to drive, even with an instructor, it can fill you with nerves. One little mistake and you freeze up and forget simple stuff. Two years down the line, driving is pretty easy. After that it is almost second nature.
I'm at a similar point to you, just starting out, and have found that you just need to do it and keep doing it. And don't worry about getting shot down man. I've found crashing and burning is not painful. Laugh it off.
Good luck!
