Hi pua foromers.

I'm French but living in Uk. I decided to give a go to Pof since I moved to a new place some month ago. I've been trying to follow some tips i read on this forum since. It gave me good confidence on field, but i have few difficulties with the online side (ironic isnit). Due to work, i don't have much time to go out, that's why i'd like to focus on online SPAM.

I've tried to play the french card+ try to sound unique. I've also tried Darth vader openers with high success rate though only a couple of convo started from it. But i struggle to keep good witty banter as English is not my native language.
Also had couple of convo started last month by trying to play cool and clever about observation on the girl profile.

Tough i managed to get answer and convo, i never # closed. So i decided to start over and rework my profile. I had it for a little while.

I reckon it's a bit long and unusual. Should I stick with it, remove some part, start over? Sometime i think it's ok some other i think it's too much and almost a joke :s

The profile is a little long, but it is not bad. Your pictures show a good bit about who you are and portray a pretty exciting lifestyle.

English being a 2nd language will pose a problem for you online because it is difficult for a girl to interpret the meaning of questions/statements in text, so one misused word can change the meaning of a sentence entirely. I would suggest you get that info out to these girls pretty early...Girls typically (American girls atleast) percieve French men to be romantic, if English women do as well then you should get some DHV from being French. I'm aware of it and found quite difficult to chat with finesse. Uk girl have the same vision of French being romantic, and maybe that's why i have quite an easy communication on face to face. Friends always joke on the fact that when I'm talking to a girl, it looks like I'm flirting. Even if I'm not :p but so far, it never really helped me online

Make sure that you let them know early in the chatting (be honest). "Hey I am French and my English is good but I do make mistakes sometimes" or something along those lines.

I am American and lived in Italy for 3 years, I had a language barrier as well. I would tell girls that "I speak Italian but like a child" which is to say that I did not use proper conjugation, etc...They usually found it impressive that I tried to speak Italian (Apparently they didn't realize that Italian girls are Hott!).

all the solo pictures start looking like you are an anti-social loner. By the way I actually am an anti-social loner, but I dont ever project that with girls and by the time they find out its too late.

I totally agree Detox. But when going trough my folders i realized that there isn't a lost of "usable material". I also changed a bit of style recently and i wanted to put pictures that actually represent me now.

But i've updated my pics and will give a go with them to see if i get better results Have a look and tell me you think that's better

here is what you can do: go out to the local hep club with hot chicks about, say you are from out of town and need some photos for your collection, next have your friend take a bunch of pictures with you and said hot chicks. In one night you can get all you will ever need, and girls love their picture taken just make it look friendly and not sexual - then after the photos start to perv on them for good measure.

The new pictures you have poster are certainly better, but replace the middle one in which you are dancing with the frumpy Albanian woman into one with you and a few hot girls from the club.

Hey bro, I have found that 90% of girls don't actually read the About Me section on your account. They mainly look at your pictures, if you seem like a cool fun guy then they will reply. Have your one liner at the top something in French since most girls will be intrigued and also DHV's yourself. About the language barrier yeah it'll be hard to start with, but once you start talking to more girls then it will be easier to understand and will become second nature to you. Don't worry, keep it up!

quite honestly your profile isn't that bad, IMO.

Here are a few things to maybe think about changing:
1 - crop the wedding pic. In group pictures you should be the main focus. In that pic you look like the 3rd wheel. Your mate is the groom with the bride and your tagging along. Not too bad, but doesn't really DHV cuz you're the third wheel. Just crop it so only you show, but the audience can still see you weren't alone in the pic.

You need one good "head shot" pic. After looking at all your pics, I'm still in question as to what you really look like. When I look at women's pix, I look at the head shot first. I look to see if she has a cute face and good teeth. Then I look to make sure she's not a cute chubby girl. Women look for the same. They want men that are handsome with good smile. Who wants to date a yuck mouth.

Also, the body of your profile is kind of a long read. With mine, I try to keep it short and kind of silly, but still describe myself. I've found women are just as materialistic as we are. They first look at pix, then read the profile to make sure the guy can spell, has good grammar, and isn't a complete nut-job....

The body of your profile is somewhat entertaining, but leave some gaps in it to come off a little mysterious...

Thanks a a lot for the advices guys! Since i renewed the pictures i had more visits then before. Might not show any interest but at least it's a start. I can maybe bounce back with Oldskool8726 opening message.

Dlightmen, I'll try to rework the body and be a bit less explicit to keep some for the further discussions. For the instrument one if i say that then I'll have to remove the drums pic, But i quite like this image, even if it's few years old it's the only one i have when you clearly see me, I'm usually hidden behind the kit in fog and lights.

As for the face shot, i had one where you clearly see me, I'll put it back.

For the wedding pic, I kept it full because it goes with what i say in the profile; being bestman in the wedding. so i don't think it's too much 3rd wheel. I would even think it's the opposite no? You wouldn't choose anyone for the job -> DHV
