I just dont get it. what is the purpose of closing? to show interest or just to have a way of contacting her in the future?
Well now you have to be specific.... Number Close? Kiss Close? F-ck Close?
To be honest with you despite the name that Eric "Mystery" has given each of these little validation terms for the pick up artists out there none of them are truly a "close." The relationship doesn't end there, the interaction doesn't end their either in most cases, or shouldn't.
If you are running "game" A-Z from Opening to Seduction then generally speaking getting her number shortly after attraction is built and some rapport is established is just done there in case things cut short. Then the idea is you continue into comfort. Kissing or "Kiss Close" becomes another way in which comfort is established with the girl in question. Finally the act of intercouse or "F-Close" yet again is another way in which seduction comfort is built, and a relationship is furthered by it. In no real instances should any of these be considered a close...
BUT most pickup artists need and require validation. These "closes" allow the pickup artist to get validation by hitting these "waypoints" in a process to getting the girl. It also allows "way points" from a point of view of troubleshooting the pickup if things go wrong. We can see how far the person got and give the steps they need to have done to get further in most cases. Not to mention this also allows the struggling PUAs to see success at early stages. Even though they may not get the girl into the bedroom they may get a number or a kiss. By allowing the person to hit these way points and see that progress they are less likely to give up on the method overall since it will be a while before they master it.
Again the term "---- Close" is very misleading indeed. In all practicality for a guy who was married for many years before my divorce. Putting a ring on a woman's hand is a "Close" in that they are solid in their relationship but as any married person knows, or been around one the relationship is still ongoing.
Hope that helps.
