I thought a good template would look something like this.. I know this is no where near where it needs to be. What do you guys think about writing a good profile/about me section?

1.) Greeting:
2.) Disarm Neediness or loser vibe: “I’m just looking to see what’s out there.”
3.) Disarm Player vibe/ comfort building: “I don’t usually hook up with random girls. I try and take the time to get to know who I am talking to before anything goes too far.”
4.) Piece of information about yourself: “ I might be straightforward and blunt sometimes but it’s because I don’t want to beat around the bush.”
5.) Info about what you are looking for: “I prefer someone who takes care of herself and her body, although I do believe everyone is sexy in their own way. I take the time to stay in shape and I’m looking for someone who does the same.”
6.) More info about self: Right now I am a full time student working towards my degree in business management while working on the side.
7.) Time Constraint: I stay busy so I won’t be spending a lot of time on here.

You want a killer opener sentence that grabs your reader straight away!

It honestly doesn't have to be that complicated. Simply a few lines about yourself...I mean really about you and what you are like. WHY you are they way you are, what appeals to you, your goals, dreams. They should be able to know what your personality is by reading the profile. Not just listing hobbies. Whatever your actual personality is just list it, don't bullshit this. IF you have the opportunity you can through in a short DHV but keep it brief. No one likes long profiles.

A little about the type of girl you are interested in is definitely a winner. :) You want to describe what that type of girl you want both physically and what qualities she'd have. You want her to read this and have in her head... "That's me...That's like me too..." Definitely include the type of relationship you want be that dating, casual hook ups, long term, etc. Don't beat around the bush on this really tell it like it is, there are women for all types trust me. :) Now some sites are better suited for one type or another but that's for a different section.

It might be a good idea to describe what types of dates appeal to you. There are those who are outgoing and those who aren't. If you like going hiking, walking, running, biking, and stuff like that as dates then cool. If you are more likely to do movies, musuems, zoo, etc for dates then that's cool too. I think this helps her envision the two of you at one of these places as well.

Finally a call to action statement. Something regarding how if you like this profile to message you if they really like Big Bang Theory and say, "Bazinga!" or something like that.

Going to the above...I agree with most of this but....

2.) Disarming the neediness or loser vibe... duh she's on the site too, no need for this.
3.) Disarm player vibe.... The more you try to disarm it the more you are saying "I'm a player..." Non-players don't need to disarm...so don't feel like you need to do this.
7.) Time constraints are useful but not needed online as much.

I'm not saying these steps don't work but I just don't see the need for them. I've been doing and writing about online game for a while. I just don't know why someone who isn't a player or loser needs to justify themselves... Only the guilty start giving their alibies when the police catch them. Innocent people have nothing to hide.

Thanks Jsmooth, this was very informative! I appreciate all of the content that you wrote. I like reading your responses because you usually have a lot of interesting things to say. Also, Big Bang Theory rocks! I love watching Sheldon interact with Penny! lol

Yeah it is a pretty good show. If you've read most of my stuff regarding online profiles then basically you know the About Me is HUGE but the right pictures and good headlines are what really drives people to your profile. :)
