This has become a problem for me. I find that my facial expressions don't match up with how I feel and it causes me to look fake as though I'm putting on a smile that's not at all genuine or I am trying to look interested when I'm bored. Any thoughts?

Why aren't you smiling and having fun? Why are you interested in whats going on? If I'm genuinely out having a good time and meeting new people I tend to smile. If I'm out on a mission in my own mind then I tend to do what you described. Granted I have goals when I go out, but my first priority is to always have FUN. Second priority is to meet new people, and they can join me in my FUN.
