Men tend to overestimate their physical appearance by at least 1 point. While girls are underestimating their looks by at least 1 point.
It's interesting, because it is almost always true (but why?), and well, some random exceptions just support the rule. So when a guy here complains about "I am decent 8 but I can't get a girl" he is almost certainly a 7 at best, but probably 1 point bellow.
I know this girl at work, who looks like an 8 (or at least a strong 7), and when I playfully said it to her, she responded that she always thought she was a 5.
It may sound like anecdotal evidence, but that's just my observations.
So my advice would be for guys (and myself) to stop caring so much about your looks and try to improve your personality and social circle more.
I myself thought I am 8, but now, judging myself objectively (if it's even possible, haha) I am just a 6 at best.
One more thing. Guys should never pickup a girl that is bellow their own scale and should concentrate on equals or 1 point above. Or even more. Because at the end of the day, it is not looks what attracts most women, but everything else (from your personality to your actions).
That was just a rant before sleep. Would like other's opinions
P.S. I am aware, that this scaling can be quite subjective and what some percieve as 8 to others could be 6 and so on.
