As I look around there have been an increasing number of posts of guys saying that as soon as they run material, the girls just call them on it because they've read it in 'The Game'.

Even if you don't use this method, the book still contains a lot of things that PUAs do, for example, the false time constraint. Even how you act, the "cocky/funny" approach will be revealed.

This book may even be made into a movie and then every girl out there will know how we pick up and why we say what we say.

Even if you're not running a routine, girls will be even more guarded and hostile than they already are.

I may just be acting paranoid so I'm interested to see different viewpoints about this. Will it affect us as PUAs or not?

Hmm, the Game is just one way.. There are 100s of other ways to pick up girls .. Instead of being the same as most of the people that read the game, understand the theory instead of studying canned lines or routines. Be creative and be your self instead of trying to be Neil Strauss! I enjoyed reading the game, and to be fair I'm sure that not only me but many others realized that many things written in this book we already did without thinking about it anyway.

I recently read The Game after a friend mentioned it to me, and it was the thing that inspired me to start living the PUA "lifestyle".

I do have to agree with crowdude, in that the book revealed many "tricks" that men have started to use to get women into bed.

The way I see it is that as long as you keep expanding your own knowledge about pick-up and practicing ad developing your own methods, then you will still be able to out-game the women.

I'm sorry but there's a lot of this comment that I don't really agree with.

Being a PUA isn't about surviving to breed and replicate. A PUA is about being able to have any woman that you want, expand your social circle and have a better life overall.

I'm not saying that any leak of the game's tactics is going to affect the world population :S

When did I ever say I rely on the material from 'The Game'? As a matter of fact I don't really rely on any material alone because I haven't read any in great detail.

I never said that the girl that you're going to hit on is going to be hostile. I meant the entire group in general. If a girl is in a group and you try to call her "cute", the group is most probably going to reject you. That's when I rely on MM or the game, when I have to befriend a set correctly.

At the bars/clubs I go to there are guys hitting on girls all the time. It might be because I'm at university though.
But yeah, I've done many cold approaches because it's the only way I meet new girls as I don't previously know anyone here.
