OP, I can understand you very well. I'm very beta myself as well but trying to change. I'm forcing myself to stop acting overtly nice to everyone and develop a bit of a strong, independent personality and it's working pretty good for the last couple of weeks.
I also get that feeling when I see pretty girls. Don't know why, I'm not ugly, I work out and have a good body, I'm intelligent, have money. So I do not know where in gods name this feeling is coming. Anyway, yeah just try working on you confidence and stop telling yourself you can't get hot girls. It's not good for your self-esteem and it's also simply not true.
