What are some tips to help me transfer my conversation from breaking the ice to casual conversation to getting a number. I notice my conversations come up short like we both have ran out of things to say. Or whenthings are going good what are better ways of asking for a number than "hey can I have your number?"

I don't do casual conversations usually. Women know the intent behind me talking to them. In my opinion, this is better than the woman going 'oh god he's trying to hit on me...'

Most girls assume this...I don't mean to say every girl is this fucking arrogant of herself, but realistically I found indirect game a waste of time unless logistics were this girl was turning down guys in front of me.

if you run out of things to say, realize you can talk about anything. I mean it's kind of hard cause when you cold approach..u have no idea what the other person wants to talk about. Sometimes I just talk about anything and then try to get them to relate. Some girls never do and say "i never do this"

In which case I try to bring it around on them in some magical way.

If you don't do the casual conversations, what do you talk about? Is it just flirting with the girl, teasing her on visual things about her and her surroundings? How long do you typically try and interact with a girl without casual conversation?

I ask so many questions because I, like the OP, have found conversations to just die down when I have nothing else to say. I know you can talk about anything, but I think that can make the situation awkward.

And to the OP, I have found success with #'s by finding something in common, typically an activity, and then using that as an excuse to meet up later. One time I was chatting with my hair stylist, and we had a lot in common, such as going out for hikes, partying, music etc. After the haircut, I mentioned that my buddy was having a party and if I had her number, I'd let her know where its at.

I used to have this problem. I used to be horribly shy and slightly awkward when I'd try to keep a conversation rolling. It would usually end up with "Sooo...this bar is pretty cool." Or something lame like that. The best way to combat the awkward silence is this little trick I learned "TLLM". You can make someone think they've had one of the deepest and engaging conversations in the world simply by doing two things: Talk Less ; Listen More. People naturally love to talk about themselves. More often than not, while you're talking the person is already thinking of the next thing they're going to say, especially when the conversation is good. Focus on asking open ended questions, more specifically, questions that require a lot of depth and consideration.

I like asking unique questions too when appropriate, ones that they're not accustomed to hearing. You could probably google a couple and keep them for reference. Chances are, if you ask one open ended question, I.E. instead of asking "did you grow up here?" say "So did you grow up here? What was your favorite part about growing up here?" HB:"Oh I loved the outdoors, my family and I would always go hiking" - She's opened up the conversation to another open ended question. You basically lead the conversation onto any path you want, picking and choosing what you want to pull from the information she's giving you.

''you seem kind of cool, we should (insert what you want, hang out, text, talk again) some time''

then pull out your phone

if she is sitting there talking to you positively and seems even somewhat compliant, don't sweat it, you will get the phone number more then not get it, if you think the problem is getting the number, go ask for some numbers from girls you don't even know without talking to them, just say hey!, you're hot/cute, I want your number, you will get alot of rejections from doing this without her being comfortable but you will also get alot of numbers and realize there is nothing magic you have to say to get a phone number besides ''give me your number'', most likely for you the problem isn't getting the number, it is getting something to happen with the number, you just haven't realized it yet

most girls will give their numbers away to anyone who asks, it handles all angles for them, if they like the guy, bam he has their number, now they might get to see him again, hurray!, if they don't like the guy, bam he has their number, now she can be left alone without feeling like she was rude/mean, and she can just not answer him when he texts/calls, if she thinks hes cool but physically is dis-interested, she can get that great emotional fix from him and text/talk for hours but never have to meet him or suck his dick, hurray!

a phone number means almost absolutely nothing, and if you fear getting rejected by asking then you must think you are not good enough (pussy pedastool etc.), you have to drop this idea, you may not realize it now, but if a girl turns you down from her number, either tight or weak game, doesn't matter, she is doing you a favour by being honest, it will save you some time, try going through 4 girls in a row that will meet up, go on dates, but won't put out, only to waste months on them and have nothing to show for it, wouldn't you have rather had them just say no to the number and get on well with the next girl, who actually is genuinely interested and bends over for you? who knows maybe even you approach a way hotter girl in the next set, say the exact same thing, and it goes way way better just because your intent to meet her is way stronger and more genuine due to a real gut level attraction

don't think of it like it is a judgement of your character, like you are going in there to get something, and your happiness depends on what the outcome is, if you go in and don't get the girl you fail, and if you go in and do get the girl you win, cut that shit out, it is simple, think of it like this, if you go out today, you're on a scavenger hunt, the only item on the scavenger hunt list is sex, there are 20 girls hidden through out the city, one of these girls has the sex that you are trying to find for your scavenger hunt, only problem is you don't know what girl it is, and the girls are not allowed to tell you they have the sex (it's the rules of the scavenger hunt), but you can play a little game of warmer, colder to get a general idea if she has the sex or not (compliance testing, and screening), so really when that first girl you meet plays the game of warmer, colder and she doesn't have the sex, now there are only 19/20 girls left to look for the sex from, eventually, you are going to get skilled as fuck at playing warmer, colder, and you can spot the sex from a mile away and easily complete this scavenger hunt quickly and efficently with style

it's about winning the scavenger hunt, not being butthurt or happy if the particular girl has the sex or not, you can be happy just because you want to be, as long as you realize this you can dictate your own state without the need for external validation or approval

O ok I get it finding a common ground could be very useful in getting a number. Its not so much I have fear of asking for a number its more of getting it out smoothly. I like the scavenger hunt metaphore. Piutting it as a game can help me get over fear of rejection. And for the open questions that's a brilliant idea in past I would try to string general questions together but it sounds like a interview. Hopefully this helps alot
