Hey guys ive just come out of a relationship with someone who I genuinely thought was the love of my life (Oneitis I believe you all call it!) I genuinely do love this girl we have been together 3 years and were engaged. The situation is as follows:

I'm will, 22 years old and started to settle down way too fast. We were together for 3 years, engaged and living together after 1 year. Everything was fantastic and there was nothing to worry about. I was your typical lad, go out with the guys she went out with the girls we'd go for lovely meals together, the one thing I must point out is that I have always been loyal to her. However in previous relationships I have not.

So, since splitting up she suggests that we can be friends with benefits as she says she doesn't ever want to lose me fully. Now I must point out that she finished me but I was the total noob and said baby please don't go blah blah blah. Anyway I decided enough was enough and gave her the cold shoulder with just enough replies to texts to keep her game. I would like some advice on whether it is genuinely worth perusing this relationship or whether I should be fb's until I improve my game.

In all honesty I do love her and don't think I will stop for a very long time but I think that it is more in a caring and protecting way than a simple I love you. I've been reading the forum for a few weeks now and there's some amazing advice on here.

Where the hell do I start!?!

Cheers guys

Will-uk

Start dating a new, better-looking girl and your ex will probably want to get you back. Then decide who you prefer.

Now, I'm a complete noob and I'm not sure if this is correct according to the rest of the guys on these foums, but it seems logical after what little I've read/heard.

Welcome champ, I'm new as well! Anyways, I was in a similar situation to you - except that the person I was in love with for so long left me and is now with someone else. I chose to move on and enjoy the single life, which is going well so far.

For you, it is only worth pursuing if you think somewhere down the track something may happen again. Staying FB's has it's positives and negatives and if i was in your position, I would probably keep that going for now. But at the same time, you no longer have restrictions! Although you may still have feelings for her, it is probably time to explore your options and have fun with as many women as you can!

That's my two cents worth, all the best mate.
