Went sarging with a couple of friends yesterday.

Talked to 5 people at a flea market to warm up first before heading to the bookstore for some game. I saw this girl at the Finance and Accounting section so I tried my very first situational opener:

Me: Hi, I've seen you around the accountancy section. I'm starting university next year so i need help in picking a book that teaches basic accounting
Her: Oh i recommend accounting for dummies, its pretty good. Its clear as well bla bla bla
Me: Oh right. You're in university now?
Her: Yup, i'm from ______, which univiersity are you going to?
Me: Oh i'm going to _______. My name's Gerald by the way, you are?
Her: Shean
Me: Thanks for your help Shean anyway i gotta go hang with my friends, give me your number?
She looks slightly shocked but she gives me her BBM anyway.
Me: Wow, girls rarely use BBM.
She just smiles.

I leave the place and drop her a text shortly.

Me: Hi Shean right?

She replies:
Hey, sorry my BBM wasn't quite working just now. Did u find the book suitable?

I haven't replied yet. She just dropped me another text (IOI?):

Actually my BBM seems faulty. Nt sure if u can receive it
So did you get the books?

Evaluation:

I don't think its a really good n-close. What do you guys think? I have no idea what to text her next, gotta sexually escalate in text which is hard given that I didn't tease or sexually escalate in person.

Opinions?

You didn't build enough attraction and that's why she thought the close was shocking. Kinda came out of left field with that one. Next time, I suggest you make her laugh more or some other attraction method before you go out and ask for personal information again.

i would make an effort to find out 3 interesting things about her then use those things to qualify her. thats how you build connections and help with the day 2.

Keep in mind she still gave you her BBM bro, and is texting you. While you could have been smoother in asking for it, saying something like "You seem pretty cool, we should hang out again some time what's your number?" you still got the number. haha. Let her know her shit is working, and try to meet up w/ her again and escalate. Nice opener though bring the conversation somewhere that's not accounting related.
