After spending many years in this wonderful country I thought I'd pass on some knowledge which may/may not be relevant to you wonderful posters. Anyone else who has had the pleasure to visit feel free to share your experiences.

First let me clear up some BS misconceptions that most people like to regurgitate:

#1 THERE ARE NO F**KING LADYBOYS
OK I lie, there are ladyboys. For the uninformed these are transsexuals (in Thai they're called "katoeys", pre-op have a cock, post-op have a pussy). But honestly, the percentage of ladyboys to hot girls make these creatures a non-issue. Plus you can also easily tell who is a ladyboy. (big head, big hands, tall, deep voice, or obviously imitating a women's voice, they also can't stop preening themselves, if she fixes her hair more than 10 times a minute it's a giveaway. And if you're really concerned, check their ID - it states their original sex). Also don't get extremely drunk alone (this is solid advice wherever you go). Ladyboys are more likely to rob someone then take advantage of them sexually. Do not ever try to fight one as they could most likely kick your ass and if they can't they have 10 ladyboy friends very close who will gladly jump in).

#2 NOT ALL THE WOMEN ARE HOOKERS
Yes there are hookers, lots of them. They're called "bargirls" and the system is quite different than in the West. It feels completely different and many guys end up dating/marrying bargirls. This is obviously a bad idea but I've seen couples who are going strong 20+ years later. This is to illustrate how different the scene is, as we would never even consider marrying a hooker in the West. With that said, there are so many "good girls" aka non-hookers, that you don't have to go anywhere near the bars if you don't want to.

Now, if you're relatively young and a foreigner you will be a pimp. No question. Thailand is an AFC's paradise, so you can imagine what it would be like if you have some game. There really is no way to describe what it's like you just have to experience it. I had zero interest in going there originally and ended up staying for years.

Getting laid there is so incredibly easy I can't even describe it in words. If you've ever wondered what it would feel like to be a hot girl, then GO. You are the prize there whether you like it or not. Good place to get a lot of sexual experience with relatively no effort.

A warning: You will not want to leave and you will be very depressed upon returning home.

I'm going to Thailand in November. I have a few questions for ya...

1) Whats the weather like in November? I've herd its nice there year around but Id love to have someones whos bee there tell me that.

2) Where is the best place to stay if I want a decent populated area with decent night life and a cool beach too. I plan on doing a lot of PU, a lot of rock climbing and kayaking.

3) How much money would you say you need to live on a day if you not doing anything crazy. I'm not a drinker and dont do drugs so I assume that will save me some money. I've often herd that 50 a day american is more than enough to live on.

Thanks man.

No problem man you will have a blast.

1) November is the best time to go weather-wise. The weather is nice all-year round (another reason why I loved it). There's basically 3 seasons: hot, wet & dry. November is dry, so it's the coolest part of the year (but still fking hot). Around April is the hottest time. The only downside to going in Nov is it's also high-season for tourists so the accommodation gets more expensive. But the upside is more tourists to PU ;)

2) If you didn't include rock-climbing I could tell you a few spots (Pattaya strictly for girls but beach is average, Bangkok for shopping/clubs but no beach, Koh Samui/Phangan for tourists/beach/party)..... but your best bet will be KRABI in the South - I've never been there myself but this is where the rock-climbers hang out. The beaches are pristine and you'll find some nice spots to PU tourists or Thais (or both). It's closer to Phuket than Bangkok.

3) $50 US SPAM is around 1500baht. This will prob be enough as you don't drink (I know you don't do drugs but don't even think about doing them there, really harsh penalties not worth the risk). If this includes accommodation? then it depends what type of place you want to stay in. A place to stay in high season in Krabi would prob be pretty expensive, it'll be tough to find a place under $30 but I'm sure they exist (try backpacker hostels etc). You can get a meal on the street (awesome food) for about $1.50, but in the tourist areas you're prob looking at more like $5 for a meal. Then you need money for activities etc. $50 + money for accomm will deff be enough, if that is total then you may struggle.

Here's a cool site I use sometimes: http://www.latestays.com/
A week before my trip I'll check the site they have cheap hotel deals.

^ We say that taking your gf to Thailand is like taking sand to the beach :P
Great place for a holiday though, just don't hang around the bars. If she has a strong stomach take her to a pingpong show.

Hobbit: good call on the Couchsurfing, I know a few people who have used the service, the only downside is you have to offer up your couch at home. But awesome way to travel cheap.

if you go there stay at a hostel called "the rock" it was $9 australian dollars a night and the people there were some of the coolest i have ever met

Dude, How on fucking earth can u pay like 30 bugs for accommodation? I was in Thailand 2 years ago and we payd like 3 to 4 dollars max a night. Stay in Hostels -> Dorm rooms = Cheap & so much more fun!
Don't eat the american food, eat local food! Again it's cheap and much better (and you wont get sick as often)

Have Fun.

It really does depend on the area. Tourist spot + high season = expensive.
3 to 4 dollars?? Be interesting to see the state of the place you stay in. Personally I need some semblance of luxury i.e. air conditioning, safety deposit boxes etc.

500 baht is the cheapest decent accommodation I've found there = US$15. You can usually get away with not having anything booked, you can just rock up and find somewhere on the day, but in high season on the islands can be a bit of a hassle. I always like to stay close to the action too so I save on taxis (Mafia runs the taxis on the islands like Phuket/PhiPhi so the prices are ridiculous, comparatively)

Safety: good call on PhiPhi

3 to 4 euro's... We had zero luxury, and we didn't care. We had a fan that's all. We didn't need a room stay all day at, only a place to sleep.. because we where out all day! And the cheaper rooms are always near the bars etc.. On the full moon party we slept on the magic mountain (@ the beach!) These places you will only find when yo go with no plan/reservations and you go with it (talk to people, for the best places), and don't care for luxury..

thanks for the post, I'm planning to travel to Thailand and may be live there for a few months if I like it. Also, you're right about it being a paradise for AFCs...I talked to a Thai dude, and even he(according to him) slept with over 200 girls just by being a bit less AFC than others.

BTW what's the best are to stay for clubs/beaches and non-prostitute girls? Also How much would a decent apartment in a decent part of bankok cost per month?

Yea man, the women just seem "warmer" over there, it's less about playing games and more about getting to the point. Though it's cool to hear that from a Thai guy. I've heard of many Thai men getting pissed off with foreigners coming to their country to f**k their women (understandably) but a lot of them don't care that much because Westerners seem to be mostly attracted to the type of girls that Thai guys consider ugly (dark-skinned, girls from the countryside). I've seen some ridiculously hot women that locals would not even blink at due to their dark skin (tanned = having to work outdoors or on the farm = poor = low class). Light-skinned Chinese-looking Thai girls are considered the most desirable among the locals, and I must admit that it is harder to score with these girls. They like to call themselves "hi-so" (high-society). I'd say around half of the hi-so girls would never date a foreigner under any circumstances (one-nighters could be a diff story though). Once I was sorta seeing a richer-Chinese type Thai and this local guy walks past, takes a look at her and gives me a huge smile and a thumbs up LOL that never happened before. It's a crazy place, I liken it to living in a cartoon. We have a saying TIT (This is Thailand). Whenever you see something just straight up crazy or unbelievable you just shrug and say "TIT". I've said this countless times.

To answer your q's:
An apartment in BKK (Bangkok) last time I was there, you could get something really nice for like 10-15K baht a month which SPAM is like $315-$470. This would be a pimpin pad furnished, security, gym etc. You could easily find one for 5K ($160) not as nice but definitely good enough. "Decent part" of BKK doesn't really exist, there is no city centre everything is just randomly in different places but I suggest staying close to the main highway which is called the Sukhumvit. Lots of club areas branch off the Sukumvit into Sois (streets). You'll find really nice apartment blocks next door to slumvillage shantytowns, bit of a trip at first but you get used to it. I hated Bangkok at first but once you learn to navigate it it becomes a pretty awesome place (taxis are cheap as fuck, travel the whole city for $10 max - ALWAYS get the taxi to turn his meter on, if he refuses he's taking advantage of a foreigner and will overcharge you.)

Best clubs are in Bangkok, this is also the best place for non-prostitute girls (apart from the streets & shopping malls). Some of the high-end clubs will charge $15 cover, sometimes even $30! (1000baht) but this is rare and you usually get drinks included. Bangkok is becoming expensive (to what it used to be). There are some clubs areas that cater mostly for Thais (the music in these clubs SUCK) but then there's some clubs where foreigners are known to hang. The girls here are prob the best targets, be wary of freelance hookers though. You don't wanna offend a "good girl" by asking if she's a prostitute but a hooker will usually bring up the subject of $$ when you hint at leaving together.

The problem with some "good girls" is that their English is shocking but that's usually a sign that they're not interested in hooking up with foreigners.

Beaches is a tough one since there are so many nice islands there. On the islands it's mostly foreigners/white girls who are there to hook up. I mean there's also local Thais who work on the islands and there's always holidaying Thai girls from Bangkok and stuff, but islands/beaches are less about Thais and more about Farangs (foreigners).

Closest islands to Bangkok are Koh Samet (popular with thai families) & Koh Chang (2nd biggest island, jungle-style)

Further south is Koh Samui (very popular), Koh Phangan (full moon party island) and Koh Tao (scuba diving). I would deff recommend going to the Full-Moon Party at least once. Samui is a short plane ride from Bangkok then a short boat-trip from Samui to Phangan.

Even further south you have Phuket (the biggest island, quite commercial) and PhiPhi (haven't stayed there myself but I hear it's the bomb), and a few other quieter ones.

So yea there's so many women there you can meet them almost anywhere. Learn a few cheeky phrases in Thai and you'll be sorted.

I just booked a trip there for February (Bangkok area) if anyone is there at that time feel free to hit me up.

And anymore Q's holla, I could talk about this place for days 8)

I was there last month.
The place has changed a bit (I first went there 10 years ago).
The people are still very cool but I noticed around the touristy areas a lot of the women are all about business. The "girlfriend effect" that used to be a big attraction to the bargirl scene is almost non-existent these days.

Bangkok is still an amazing city with a surprising number of hot white women (tourists and many international students).
