The thing is this too. You're putting yourself in a compromising situation, a dilemma. 1. you dont want to be with her if she will disrespect you. 2. you don't want to leave her. So there is a good chance you'll just end up unhappy.

The thing is this. When A girl does something shady you can only hold her accountable to the point where she won't just say fuck you and call the bouncer. I really don't like the fact that she did this and you still want her. I wonder if you want her validation or you want her just to make your hurt pride/bruised ego feel better. I also don't like this because I wonder about the message you are sending yourself as far as self-respect and self-esteem by pursuing someone that did this. When you take shit, you tell yourself its okay to take shit and the more you do it it becomes a habit and then you have low self-esteem...

It is crucial that you maintain the moral high ground here. She has to believe she did the wrong thing. This is where alot of guys mess up with arguing with girls. I would want her to tell me she is sorry and that she won't do it again. I would want to hear those words come out of her mouth. "I am sorry and i won't do it again."

If you must talk to her. I would call her. If you were surprised by this you obviously do not know her very well. You need more information. so I would gather information.

How many guys has she dated? Does she date casually? One night stands? How often do guys hit on her? Does she give her number out often? How did she get a relationship with her ex boyfriends? How many partners? What does she want? how does she feel about you? Why did she do that? how would she feel if you did that to her? Whats going through her head? ( I would just talk about these things not in an angry tone, but just deep conversation)

Just like your mom or your dad or your sister or brother. When you know a person well you know how they will handle a situation before they actually do it. Knowledge is Power.
I really, really appreciate your insight - I think you are dead on here. It's crazy how emotions are clouding my judgement - I know these things you are saying and thought I had internalized these long ago, but I sit here arguing them away.

I took your advice and called her. She has felt bad about it all day long and even told her mom everything she did and her mom told her she was a jackass.

She did say she thought we were just having fun and it wasn't serious until we talked last night. That was obviously my fault. I guess I didn't have the clear direction I thought we had. She also apologized and said she wouldnt do it again and she wanted to continue to try and have a long term relationship and that is what she wants as well. I feel more at ease at having called her, but I'm not optimistic about things working out. I agree with everyone that the foundation is all jacked up already. It's so sad that something so good went so awry, so fast.

She also said that had our roles been reversed, this would be a deal-breaker.

Now you just have a few questions for yourself.

1.) How do I feel about this situation? Do I feel like I have my self-respect?
2.) Does she respect me? Is there anything she needs to do to make sure she respects me?
3.) What is to stop her from doing this again? What can I do to make sure she does not do this again?

If she is talking to her mom that shows she is serious. Most importantly that shows she is serious about you.

I will just speak from personal experience. I have been an asshole (and I dont feel any shame in saying that) about disrespect in the past, in the way I handled it. I have taken the mentality that pride is more important than pussy and respect is more important than a relationship. however, I have ruined some opportunities with some women because of that. I don't know what to tell you here. This is still a grey area in my game.... Just how far should you go to handle this respect? This I do know. A bond develops and grows stronger overtime. The more engery that is invested and the more attached you get...the harder it is to break things off. In the real world people compromise.... Maybe if you give a little now, you get a lot latter. i don't know though...its your choice.

If you want this - forget the bouncer, accept her apology and move on - NEVER bring it up again.

If you don't want the LTR, or SERIOUSLY see doubt - cut it loose now and save the wasted time.

Sounds like she was pretty cool about it actually. She's into you, realized she fucked up - but also didn't know ya'll were 'an item'? If that's plausible - sounds like you might have a good one. I'd hope I would let it slide if it happened to me.

I feel a lot better, thanks guys. I'm not sure I would have handled it half as well without everyone's help. Calling her tonight was the right move.

What an awesome community - I'm glad I found it.

In your defense.

I would say she portrayed herself to you in a LTR kind of way. Which means you started to see her as a serious prospect. You see she's not. In your talk she said she didn't think you were taking her seriously. Now she's doing the opposite of what she makes herself out to be.

She's an expert liar.

Trust me. I know liars. There are people who tell lies. There are people who say and act lies, and there are those who lie to themselves.

I have a sense she's all three.

Drop her.

In a psychological standpoint, she seems to be a exhibiting histrionic traits. Seductive women, who always want to be the center of attention. They would do anything for attention, seduce, act out, lie, cheat. She likes that she is the center of your world. She craves your attention. She craves the special way you look at her. Low tolerance for delayed gratification, when she wants something, she wants it that moment. She is a very emotional individual, the smallest amount of criticism will make her cry. She is impulsive. She always has something to complain about or always having pains.

I say take it slow. Get to know her better. You'll see if she is genuine. If you guys develop a strong bond all of this won't matter. Guard your heart, protect your feelings. And if it works out, we're happy for you man.

Let me just state a quick thing before I give my advice...

You are already too invested for this to possibly turn out into a healthy relationship. The foundation has already been set and it is not a good one. Everything you are building with this girl will come crashing down at this point.. And that is just pure honesty.

Now, what i try to encourage guys to do is leave a few girls at the first sign of things like this, because it communicates something powerful to your subconscious. You are telling yourself that you will meet loads of women in your life and you don't need to stick around for some sneaky snobby girl. This works wonders for you attitude and the way other women will view you in the future.

If you can manage to grow some balls to cut this chick off right now cold turkey and completely move on with your life; i can assure you that you will meet loads of new women in the near future. Now if you want to stick through this and risk a relationship and get hurt, you will be waiting as long as you did to meet a girl you felt this way about again. Make the tough decision now and travel the easy road later or make the weak AFC decision now and feel the pain and agony later..Choice is yours
Maybe you missed the above lol.... Read it again please :)

This girl would be an awesome f-buddy. Unfortunately, you're too emotionally invested in her already for you to manage this well into a stable LTR. Cut loose while you still can at the minimum damage to yourself. Based on your posts, I doubt it if you have the emotional fortitude of an RR to really manage this well. In this one, listen to Eddie and listen well.

i don't know why you guys want to discourage this guy from doing what he obviously wants to do. He already showed fortitude by resolving this situation. Some guys might have gotten into a fight with the bouncer other guys may have blown up on the girl. Discipline is about doing what has to be done regardless of how you feel. He might not have showed confidence but he did show discipline. Sure things are not going the way he wants them to go, but are you just going to quit when things get hard? A relationship does not start out the way you want it to be; a relationship is molded into how you want it to be through patience. If you quit however, it will never take shape...

I'm curious as to how experienced you are with relationships and women in general.

As just a note.. Quitting and moving on are two different things.

so why bother giving advice if the above is true for you?

To help people make a choice. There are two parts to a choice: 1. knowing what you want to do and 2. Finding the energy in your will to do what you want to do

I don't tell people what to do. I am to liberal for that. I only offer knowledge, outcomes (what will happen), and my judgment (my opinion). There is no shoulds. I show people the paths they can take, and what will probably be down those paths. I don't push them to a path. Then I offer moral support so that they have the energy to go down the path that they want to go down. Discouragement however weakens the will and ultimately makes a man too weak and confused to do what they want to do. Its like being paralyzed in your own body and that my friend is a sad thing to see.
