So I am still fairly new to the game. I was at work and I saw a two set. My overall goal was not to make a number close or kiss close or anything like that. My goal was to just do an opener and get over this nervousness of talk to females.

It took place at work. I work for a major retail chain.

So I saw a two set and decided to give it a shot. So I walk by them and then a few seconds later I open the set via over the shoulder.

ME: Hey let me get your opinion on something. ( Said with a smile on my face.)

The girls smiled and said "sure"

ME: Well the thing is my friend had to break up with her fiancé. She found out he was cheating on her. Now she is really depressed and upset. Now all she does is work and take care of her son. Her son is pretty upset by it too so I am going to get him a video game because he loves video games. My question is If you were her want would you want to make you feel better?

(while I am saying this the girls were interested in what I had to say)

GIRLS: (Insert their ideas here )

ME: I heard girls like candles what do you think about that?

GIRL 1: yeah I think candles would work.

GIRL 2: I am not a candle person.

( at this point I saw a perfect to time to do a neg)

ME to GIRL 1: gosh your friend is picky isn't she? ( I said with a smile on my face)

They both laughed

GIRL 2: Well yeah ( she said that with a smile on face and she played with her hair a little )

ME: well ladies thank you very much for your advice.

GIRLS: Your welcome. ( They both smiled, but I noticed girl 2 was still playing with her hair after at this point.)

One thing I should have done was put a false time constraint on the set.

Wow sounds like you did great there fella! I’m in a similar boat as I want to start by getting over my nervousness to just be able to open a conversation with a girl. I may not be the best one to offer advice but maybe when the conversation was coming to its close you could’ve said that if you come up with any more good idea’s you can find me at such & such and that would’ve given them a valid reason to approach you again. But again what you did do sounds good to me, wish I had the balls to just do that much!

It was crazy. Before had I approached the set i was pretty nervous. But once I started talking to them.......for lack of a better term it all flowed like water.

I am still very new, but once you get in there your not even thinking about the nervousness or at lest that's how it was for me.

A bit of advice. This helps me with ANYTHING picking up girls or whatever. I say a small phases to get me pumped up.

Mine is " well im ready to lock in" I got that from The Pickup Artist season 2 ep 1. Mystery says it when it walks into a club.

I guess that's what the 3 second rule is there for too, to prevent those pre approach nerves from increasing to the point where you don't approach, I like your affirmation which I imagine overrides any nerves and makes you feel confident.

And what's that Pickup Artist, is it a series or something?

The Pickup Artist was a reality TV show competition in which Mystery would take everyday people and teach them how to become master pickup artist.

Someone would get eliminated ever week and last man standing would get the title of master pickup artist, 50,000$ and travel with Mystery doing pickup artist boot-camps and things of that nature.

It only had two seasons, but i learned a lot from it. I have both seasons on my PC. If you can try and get a hold of it and watch it. Its nice to have visual aids when your first starting out in the game.
