True not everyone is good at it but I think learning and memorising canned routines is harder than learning how to be good naturally. Memorising a five minute story seems a lot harder to me than learning how to build a connection and knowing how to use good banter, good body language and paralinguistics.

Storytelling is a skill that can be naturally developed. Any body should be able to take an experience from their everyday life and tell it in an interesting and exciting way. That link seemed to be full of examples. It also had several pointers for planning individual stories.
Bane, I understand what you're saying. It's way better to run "natural game," and everyone eventually realizes that. However, realizing it isn't always enough. Storytelling, canned routines, etc. are always great to build one's confidence and inner game, and definitely have their place. It's not a bad thing to have examples to work off of, and as BLUU alludes to, you can become much better at it by using them to learn.
