Having been with a girl who's into the rough stuff, the key here when you're a big guy (6'2, 230lbs roughly. I weigh in stone so I'm not sure) is escalation and progression.

A woman during sex in my experience is not afraid to tell you when enough is enough. If you pull her hair that bit too hard, she'll let you know. So just go with the flow and build up.
