Worst guideline ever.

It's so forced and un natural. Out of 5 approaches at the bar, the approach I used after 3 seconds was the only one that failed me.

Anyone else fill the same? I don't really have AA but I definitely felt it with the 3 second approach and thusly I'm never going back to it. My other 4 approaches went good and smooth with 2 number closes.

Again, fuck the 3 second rule. Just doesn't feel right to me. I warn noobies against it.

lol i strongly disagree with you in this one. The 3 second rule is good as it feels natural. Do you remember the time you saw a hot chick and your eyes lit up, and you were like FUCK SHES HOT. Thats the perfect time to approach her as she can feel that energy and it feels way more natural and most impoortantly your in the moment when you tell her shes fken sexy/cute.

These rules are not written in stone. You can adjust to whatever works best for you.

Personally, I think if your getting more then 1 number close a night, your game is not that solid. Go for quality instead of quantity.

You should stay in the set long as possible, bounce them around, and go for the pull. If logistic prevents the pull, you have 1 solid number close instead of couple of flaky one.

I think the 3 second rule is more intended for nervous guys who will psych themselves out if given longer than three seconds. If you're confident enough, notice the woman from the corner of your eye, talk to your friends, have fun, then plan your approach and do it. That's probably preferable if you can do it without looking like a chump while you're standing there planning.

I think Mystery was the one who started this rule, and he meant the 3s rule to be used with a canned opener, since it's hard to come up with a good opener in 3s.

It also helps for sheer quantity of approaches. I never applied it though, instead I open quickly after she's seen me or gives me eye contact. The reason is it prevents the awkward tension that you're afraid to talk and doesn't put pressure on the opener.

It's much more natural to open a girl the second you've noticed each other compared to awkwardly exchanging glances and looking away.

fresh and spontaneous is always better than canned

I can see it in day game...But at the bar it felt just creepy really.

Maybe I misunderstand it. The time I used it, I caught her gaze for a couple seconds then walked about 5-6 feet towards her and said "Sweat Pants and a Tshirt? Whats the occasion?(smirkin)". She was the only girl that had sweats on but she was definitely the hottest chick in the bar. HB9 at the very least.

She responded, "I work here, Im a bartender.Have you met my friend Katie?"

And at that point she pawned me off on her friend. Worked out okay because I got Katies number before I left but that isnt the point.

The rest of the night I scrapped the 3 second rule. Went with something that feels a little more natural and had good 30+ minute sets the rest of the night.

Chill with your buddy, catch an HB giving you the googly eyes, and just simply motion with your hands for her to come over. If she does, she's clearly interested and you can control the set much easier.

I dont use canned openers so maybe thats why it didnt go so well. Regardless though it felt forced and unnatural and is the only time in my recent memory where I got approach anxiety. I dont recommend it.

@ Consequences_ : Maybe you were too direct with your body language? I go to those sports bar/restaurants sometimes, I never walk directly to women to open, you're in the #1 stereotyped spot for pickups, I think it telegraphs interest for that reason.

Instead, I open girls from the side: those already sitting next to me or I move near them but act is if I'm about to continue walking/leave or looking for someone. If they're near a TV, act like you're checking the score, look in their direction, and open with a smile.

This way it looks like you're just being friendly, not hitting on her. Indirect game is my favorite because I feel it has a higher success rate and is the way I opened before I learned pua stuff anyways

Uh you do realize the 3 second rule is for those that truly have AA so why are you using it? Especially when you don't exactly have AA?
