I have so far been out with one of her friends before and hopefully this one goes a little better. I am 22yrs old and I own a house, and am confident so, i dont think confidence is the issue.
Apparently some time this week she will be coming over and she has a lot of characteristics that I really do like and are the complete opposite of my ex. Well my issue is, last time this went about when meeting someone through her, I noticed that I naturally turn into being real real quite and somewhat reading the other person instead of just being myself. Even my friend told me, you are soo funny but you are quiet and they arent getting to see the real you. This only happens when they come over to my house though, its just the intitial greeting and I guess subconciencely I try not to come off as desperate/too aggressive and in doing so I am quiet.
How should I play it when I meet her? I just feel out of place for some reason and dont really open up to people till I know them i guess? and lastly; how should I go about the whole night without being too interested, but definitely staying out of the friend zone if in fact I do like her?
Thanks.

You can't be too nice, tease a bit and act as if you've known her for years. Shy and quiet can make it awkward and confusing for her. Just act how you do around your buddy and if she does't like you then she doesn't like you, but eventually she's going to have to know the real you if its to go anywhere.
