So there's been a lot of times that I've hooked up in clubs, dancing or kissing chicks. There's something I've always struggled with though, how do you get the "its on" that she wants to continue into the bedroom (that she's with it) , or how do you lead it there?
Basically I don't know where to even start when it comes to wanting to take a chick home.

Basic facts: I'm a 20 year old college student studying in mexico right now (from cali) and I have my own apartment with a friend, so no parents etc..

What advice do you guys have as to doing this transition?

You need something in your room that you can ask if she wants to see/do/play with/whatever so that you both have an excuse to go up to the room even though you both know whats going to happen. this way you can allow her to say "we went to his room for -blah- and then it just happened"

I personally have a laughing gas dispenser in my room - theres nothing better than doing a little nos with a girl (and because you can say "make sure you are comfy" before the balloon they always get on the bed ;D )
also making out after a nos balloon is amazing and seriously gets girls wet if they did it right

If your talking about talking a chick home, you have to have something going on at your pad later on. Have some hookah, drinks, etc...

Every girl I pulled, it was never giving direct from point a to b. This is possible, but personally I think, is more of a numbers game then solid game. Instead, like David Denangelo says, push/pull. 2 Step forward, 1 step backward. Every girl I pulled up to date, this is what has happens. Also, I made her qualify herself like crazy.
